Security carrying on like a pack of fannies is becoming a common theme at this tournament.

Just heard word from a mate at the China vs Uzbek game and others on twitter that security at Lang Park are harassing Uzbek fans who are wearing "non official" merchandise (aka knockoff kits) and were told to remove them or leave. Since when is it securities business what fans wear?

This is in addition to other events this week such as:

- Security at AAMI Park storming bays to confiscate North Korean banners and Kim Jong Un masks
- Security and Police into the corner putting about 20 of their own into the corner to intimidate the initial handful of vocal north korea supporters who dared to make a noise and dissuade others from joining them
- Fans being threatened with eviction from lang park for trying to join the Iraq active area during the match.
- Iraq fans having pre 2003 flags confiscated.

Scouse roar (take with a grain of salt if you need to) also just put this up

"Absolute idiocy trying to get Muslim women to remove their shirts when they only have those shirts"

This shite is embarrassing for football in this country. Non of these incidents are worth security intervention and just gives us a bad image in Asian football.

Seccos at the ksa v best kores were a joke. Players snd fans and also officials loved the north korean chants. Dont know why they decided to have a line of cops and seccos minding the best korea support.

If the Darts taught us anything it's that it's clear that standing up and singing a few songs is what leads to mass riots and damaged property, much better and safer to create a hostile atmosphere between fans and seccos.

Was just near the Uzbek fans but wasn't sure what was happening. Security seemed to have a shit attitude tonight and up here on Saturday. To be honest though I thought the same for both origin games up here this year.

Theyre always going to take precautions (like the NK stuff) that could potentially be construed as offensive.

We were getting involved in the Chinese active area against KSA and had absolutely no dramas.

Yep had a mate at the game, told me he was in the uzbek active section and had a lot of fun as the Uzbek fans were friendly and gave them flags, scarves etc.

Apparently security didn't like that all the Uzbek's were wearing shirts that said Uzbekistan with the Asian Cup logo. Eventually security began handing out tape so the Uzbek fans would cover the Asian Cup logo.

Security wouldn't let us go up to the fence at the end of tonight's game at suncorp to get photos and wanted us to leave the stadium straight away.

How can you leave a stadium straight away when the bus nazis refuse to let buses leave despite mile long queues of tired kids standing in them?

Freakin angry bitch conductor abusing passengers who didn't want to stand in already over-crowded buses. Brisbane welcomes all International visitors to this festival of sport? If you treated cattle like they treat visitors at Suncorp they'd get done by the RSPCA.

Puke town. Should be forever stripped of FFA events.

Nope I use taxis. This is also irrelevant.

Brisbane is hosting an International event. Visitors to the event are being openly abused by City employees that control the "preferred" method of transport to and from the games. Disgraceful. Shameful. I was ashamed to be an Australian there tonight.

I saw security threaten one of the Saudi supporters because he was playing an instrument to try and get chants going.

I was also blocked by a security guard and he got right into my face in the 90th minute when I tried to join fellow followers of our supreme leader.

The crowd was so well behaved and passive tonight, and the security guards take full advantage of it. It's so fucking petty...it's just sad. Our nation is a fucking nanny state.

I was at the North Korea v Saudi game tonight, The fans were in great spirit. The Victory boys and neutral crowd adopting North Korea and chanting in fun good spirit. Why the heck did security had to move it? I just don't get it??? They called in police too, for no reason at all. Its their day in the sun I guess, they are the real bullies, these who drop out of highschool, and didnt make it anywhere in life, so they became security guards.

Well done to those who adopted Korea,, i was a few bays away, and it sounded and looked great. Despite losing 4-1 the Nth Korean team came over at the end of the game to applaud the crowd. Never in their wildest dreams would they have expected active support (or any kind of support) playing away from home.

Yeah, was super heavy handed at the Best Korea game. What they don't get is that this bullshit pisses EVERYONE off. No-one wants to see people being treated like potential freaking criminals for having a laugh. That does much more to kill the mood in a crowd than an 'offensive' chant.

I'm liking the fact that I'm walking straight through a gate and to my seat without having to be patted down and strip searched beforehand.
Not wearing a WSW shirt has its perks

(this is in Sydney/ANZ)

edit: but this sucks hard reading some of the stuff that's been going on at other venues. This country simply does not understand football at all. Cracking down on things that aren't worth the time and aren't violent or threatening is just a waste of time and causes more problems than if they just sat back and let people have fun.
