Pretty much. However the heinous nature of the people she has screwed makes this seem far more 'criminal'.

90% of the forum is bang up for personal responsibility so I just keep coming back to the FACT that if you're taking medical, dietary, nutritional, any advice from a 23 year old blogger that was unqualified and unregistered then that says more about your stupidity than her motives.

Maybe she truly believed it. Not to pick a fight with you over this but your water diviner and pyschic types tend to actually believe what they're saying.

They don't actually think they're lying.

Oh I'm not disagreeing but you have to admit that if you were going to throw the law around (if possible) she'd cop it the worst given what she's done.

As SW will tell you I'm no expert but isn't saying you'll donate from profits on your merchandise (what I thought she did) somewhat different than directly soliciting funds for charity.

I haven't followed this too closely but what did she ACTUALLY say or do?

Im a bit grey on that too. In the interview they didnt really go into it, but made it out to be direct donations.

I agree with you for the most of this, but when it comes to Terminal illness people tend to loose there ability for rational thought. They become so vulnerable that they are willing to accept / try anything to stay alive.

She openly claimed that she saved HERSELF by refusing standard medical treatment and relying on her diet and holistic therapies.

Funny thing is when you stop chemo you feel a million times better and your appetite comes back and I can see why people would get fooled into thinking the alternative was working.

This interview is hard to stomach. She just lies and gets trapped in lies over and over.

She's trying to make everyone think she's the victim...its the most bizarre interview I've ever seen.

Why did she do this interview????? (besides the $450000). If she had layed low she would have been a distant memory in a few months.
Now she looks even more evil and stupid.

What was with the age thing??????

I think the money was the only reason why she did the interview...it almost seemed like she was delibrately trolling the viewers and Channel 9 into thinking she could get away with anything she says.

I understand the money, but she seemed to go in with the Idea that she could out think the interviewer and try and come out of this looking like a victim.

She would have killed the interview dead in 5 mins if she just came on and said "I lied and I'm sorry".

Although there are probably civil actions hanging over her head.

needs the money to get a good lawyer

I think we all know she will blow that money on a bender as soon as she walked out of the studio.

I have a friend that works as a pharma rep and he tells me it's pretty heavily regulated here. Still some bonkers stories about how it's done in the US

Oh they have some interesting tricks here too. They buy us lunch, send in the pretty ladies and try to promote their product showing us results of studies. I rarely prescribe any of their new medications as I tend to follow therapeutic guidelines which are generic and usually based on older medications that have more safety data than newer meds. They're not allowed to give us gifts anymore though.

Oh and we thankfully don't have direct to consumer ads for prescription meds. That would be terrible.

This story on Catalyst about Tamiflu was interesting especially regarding the studies that drug companies do
http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/4190452.htm

Personally though if I'm dying from the flu I'll give it a go even if it may not work!

The whole thing is hopeless. The very fact that the pharmaceutical companies are spending 9 out of 10 dollars on marketing and 1 on research just goes to show what happens when capitalism is let off the leash.*

*No I'm not saying we need to live in a socialist utopia.

Personally though if I'm dying from the flu I'll give it a go even if it may not work!

MumRubz hijacking the thread ONCE AGAIN and making it his own agenda.

I thought the agenda was to pitchfork a charlatan for convincing people to throw away their cancer medicines. Sounds like he's on point ONCE AGAIN to me.

FTR, the only crime I can tell she may be liable for is pocketing the proceeds of that charity thing and those details are sketchy at best..

As wrong as faith healers too <- don't anybody comment on this as it has the potential to 'derail' SW's thread ONCE AGAIN.

Still waiting on my cheque.

Wait. What?

How do you make those repayments on that ferrari of yours then?

I inject botox into insecure women's faces. That ferrari is my third.

Seen this?
