Hopefully another a league club picks up bonevacia. He is such a quality player and so young. Needs to keep players like him in the league. Would love to see us go for him.

So Williams has said that he's made up his mind that he's coming to Australia, and is already looking at properties.

Would take Roly at Roar in a heartbeat, particularly if we make ACL next year. Same with Rhys. His ability to play as a holding mid is pretty enticing as well.

Popa doesn't seem to like young local talent. Considering he's only played in one game all season I think it's safe to say Popa doesn't rate him ahead of has beens like Cole as just one of many examples.

How is Cole a has been?

Out of curiosity where exactly do you expect Shabow to fit in?

Exactly my point. Not good enough to play a minute, yet always on the bench instead of a young player who should be there getting 10 to 15 minutes in each game.
He doesn't even have a senior contract and believe me it has nothing to do with him not wanting one and everything to do with Popa not wanting to give him one.

Shannon Cole has been on the bench in 5/23 games this season so I wouldn't exactly consider that 'always'. Plus not sure how you can say Shabow should be on the bench ahead of Cole considering they play completely different positions. Cole is there as cover for the fullback positions and Shabow is a forward so unfortunately for him he's never going to be on the bench consistently ahead of guys like Santalab and Sotirio, at least not yet.

He doesn't have a senior contract not because Popa doesn't want to give him one, but because we have no more to give, we have a full squad. It would be great if Shabow could get more game time, and if we were having another season like last year then he probably would be getting more game time but there's no reason to change a winning formula right now.

You are not getting my point mate. I know Cole has been back on the bench recently after he's injury but my point is he shouldn't be there at all at the expense of the young guys.
You say we have a full squad but I'm talking for next season where don't have a full squad. Shabow would stay on next season if given a deal and the same goes for the other talented young guys. Even giving Santalab a extra two years on top of his current deal for next season is a stupid idea considering he's age and the fact he's not even considered good enough to start any game this season.

True, but transfer fees have been replaced by players throwing a sook until they're allowed to leave in many cases...
