there has always been a lot of truth to that....
It didn't matter as much during our golden generation but playing for nsw seems to be worth 10 points to your batting average

People have been very quick to forget he was one of the most important people in developing our great generation. Wasn't doing the job well enough as selector but still one of the most important people in our cricket history.

Just been talking to a cricketer who confirms Marsh's arrogance and obnoxious disposition.

Privately, Rod Marsh was asked to comment  on Tasmania by a cricketer.. He loudly opined, " Can't bat, bowl or field." 

His son, Dan, is the Tassie coach!

All who know Dan think he is a lovely bloke.

If anything, under Rod Marsh there was a massive Western Australian bias. The Marsh Brothers, Adam Voges, Ashton Agar, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Chris Rogers all kept getting selected under his rule, and Cameron Bancroft kept getting mentioned in the media. Only one of them was clearly the right selection.
