Hope NZ can at least make the knock outs.
I expect Canada to start well against Nigeria.
Staj leads The Philippines against Switzerland.

Staj leads The Philippines against Switzerland. 18 of the Philippines squad or 23 are American so they shouldn't be the pushover they seem. Interested to see which teams will get hammered. I thought Zambia would be one but they've just beaten Germany. Haiti probably going to cop a caning.

No need for added time here but I wonder if we'll see Qatar-like proportions of 8mins. One thing I like about the women's game is the much lower amount of time wasting.

Interesting game so far. I expected that NZ would be outplayed by Norway but that hasn't happened. Although they haven't created chances they have made Norway's defence work hard.

I guess for any games for Kerr to miss then it's the first two. Bloody cursed timing though. I think the team is mature enough to know that many others are ready and it's time to get the job done.

Really enjoying the World Cup so far.
With all of this interest and publicity at the moment, I am really curious to see how the sport is going to shoot themselves in the foot this time.

I don't think the local league will get too much from it. National teams will be a drawcard. I think it's very hard to still convert people to obsessed where they'd go every week. Those types have other interests that also happen on a Saturday night. Tomorrow is an even bigger day with 4 games and 2 in Australia.

Really always liked the Dunedin stadium. Not generally a fan of domes or indoors but if it's very close to the pitch and has an atmosphere the it's something different and good fun.

Spainish midfielder Aitana Bonmati, might be a strong contender for player for the tournament.
Not only technically gifted but also a great decision maker whilst being able to put in key decisive passes and even scored today, but everything Spain did well it came from the back of her impressive play.
A joy to watch.

Awesome to see how close most matches have been so far despite the tournament going from 24 teams to 32. Great for women's football.

Cruisy Japan 5:0 win over Zambia. Guess it shows the difference between world cup games and friendlies big time as Zambia played very well pre tournament. I think Japan and Spain will walk this group.

Is England Haiti on channel 7? Despite the fact Optus is probably doing a great job, it's just not as available if it were on SBS.

What was looking to be a penalty and Red against Haiti was annulled by VAR for a slight offensive foul by England. In the past all of that was just brushed off and goal kick.

Haiti giving England a real run for their money here. 1 nil for England 70 minutes in and only because the Haitian girl gave away the dumbest penalty ever. Haiti not at all overawed.

How’s is everyone watching it? Because Channel 7 doesn’t seem to screen anything other than Aussie matches.
