Glad to see CCM in front at half time. Feel for both sets of players. Adelaide it's a nothing game, and CCM in between the finals and the AFC Cup.

Well done Mariners - held out for the first big flurry in the game and continued to hold firm with the occasional very big hand by Vukovic. Last game against the Roar Ibusuki stood in the face of our players after we had kicked the ball out for one of their injuries - despite the fact we had uncontested possession when we kicked it out. He did the same thing tonight when Clough went down and the ref inexplicably stopped the Mariners attacking raid. I do not like that level of competitiveness - if a team kicks the ball out for you (or has the game stopped for you) courtesy and sportsmanship says you stand off and let them have a pass at least. Always good in my book when Mauk leaves the field with nothing. His nasty little pushes and whinging to try and get players reacting deserves the nothing he took off the field with him tonight. I would have liked to see both teams play in the dry. The skill level of both teams is entertaining and that much water did limit them both. Ibusuki went close a few times - absolute quality striker and even when everyone knows he is going to go for the header whipped in few teams can negate him. He and Mauk have a great understanding of each other and often their own personal interplay is a feature of great attacking raids. Very glad the Mariners won tonight. A final game between Mariners and Nix would be a fair challenge to win on, but a game against Adelaide would have been a travesty of a loss in a reasonable world.

+x+x+xThere has to be better commentators then Moss Which one is Moss? Is he the secondary bloke because he is a farking flog. Offers nothing. Like listening to a gorilla Saying "where was Irankunda supposed to go" was a stupid comment by Moss when Irankunda got the yellow. The decision made by Irankunda to go full speed at the ball in the wet, in a contested area was always going to result in an excessive force collision. Clearly reckless. Who cares what he was meant to do after his opponent got the ball first and he was at speed? He should not have gone in that way. That is youthful decision making on display. I don't actually mind Moss so much since he does talk about the football we are watching. The other guy is the one that annoys me with his constant "will this be the moment" sort of commentary.

Wow.The Mariners are a very resilient team and have a wonderful coach in Jackson.
Adelaide certainly gave them as run for their money and Vukovic pulled off some great saves. Now for the AFC Cup-will be tough.

Well done Central Coast Mariners! For me winning the league is the bigger achievement over a one off game like the grand final so they fully deserve it.

+xMariners are Champions in my eyes . This silly round robin thing they have is just a money maker. 100% in agreeance, Mariners are the champions & congrats to them, amazing feat considering losing coach, losing best players & losing first 4 games & also playing in Asia with a small squad.

Congrats to CCM. But I won’t lie. From a Victory POV I feel like this was a wasted opportunity for us. We probably should have won all 3 games the Nix and 2 against CCM. Dropped points late on numerous occasions. If we had a more proactive coach, it might have been different. But that’s football. Third is still a decent result after the disaster of last season.
I think its an open finals series. I think anyone can win the toilet seat from here. I don't think there is a standout team.
On another note, If CCM make the GF, do people think it will be played in Gosford?

He is probably the most popular commentator from what I've seen online I just find some of his banter and side lines irritating. I don't care that so and so has yet to score his first aleagues goal every substitution, don't want to hear that this may be the last chance for a team to score to salvage something or that they still have plenty of time, and don't want to hear that 'maybe' it is time for coaches to make changes around the hour mark when players are taking off their bib and heading to the sideline to be substituted. The 'forecasting' is fluff I can do without. I also don't like it when commentators completely miss something in an incident that is blatant and obvious to me. Watching is subjective so people will see different things, but I find some of his comments about significant incidents can be more superficial than educated or informative. I understand he is trying to make his commentary more emotive and continuous - some of it goes against the grain for me.

With your squad I agree that Victory should have been right there to the last round vying for the premiership. You still are in with a shot of making and winning the GF. If the Mariners do make the GF it won't be in Gosford.Probably at Parramatta if it is available.

On another note, If CCM make the GF, do people think it will be played in Gosford? The thing missing from MV this season was another regular goal scorer. Probably needed to be Arzani, but he obviously needed quite a bit of time to get to a level in which he could be that third regular goal scorer. Too many games were drawn as we often only had 1 goal leads. Highest number of draws in the table is not a good stat. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we get a Big Blue GF. Historically both MV and SFC perform well in the finals. GF will almost certainly be played in Sydney if CCM get through. Gosford stadium is just too small for it to be financially viable, especially if their opponent is MV who always get a good number of travelling fans.

Put this in the other thread but will drop it here as well. Moss is a complete flog with no idea when it comes to laws of the game and how they work. Case in point. Last night Irankunda got taken out by a flying tackle from a Roux. Moss posits that 'I still thinks he gets some of the ball there'. (Match time 71m 30seconds.) Here's a hot tip Mr Moss. It makes no difference whether you win or lose the ball in a tackle. You can be sent off EVEN if you win the ball if you are out of control, have left your feet, are indulging in excessive brutality, force or speed. Roux was guilty of at least 3 of these. You cannot 'endanger the safety of another player'. FULL STOP. Roux is lucky maybe got a touch of the ball (I doubt it because it continued straight) or he would've missed the whole final series. Then Roux told the ref to 'fuck off'. Fucking straight in the book for dissent there. There's no way I'm letting a player tell me to 'fuck off'. 2nd YC, on your bike son. And then Moss complains about Irankunda's YC by saying 'I'm not sure how he could get out of the way'. Well how about you don't jump in the air with your knee raised and wipe out the bloke standing there with your hip. (Match time 72m 50seconds.) He doesn't have a clue. Get me on there for sideline commentary. By the by Irankunda did that because he lost his rag. Again. He really will need to sort out his mentality in Europe or he will spend most of the time either suspended or on the bench because he's a liability.

I agree with the commentator, absolutely nothing in that challenge. "Excessive force collision", "Youthful decision making" FFS. The replays clearly show it was such an innocuous incident, flared up only because the Mariners players ran in to make it an incident. I find it more frustrating that Irankunda gets targeted so much. Only a few moments after his card, Roux got a card for a very crude challenge which was absolutely intentional and high risk of causing injury. Not only that, he proceeded to get up and abuse the referee. But the talking point is the card to Irankunda.

Mate he literally left his feet with a raised knee, at speed, and, luckily for him, took Farrell out chest high with his hip. (Luckily not his knee.) But on balance Roux's tackle was far worse.
