Well with the friendlies starting in a couple of weeks its looks to be a bumper year in the 2010 NSW Premier League.

South Coast Wolves - future b-league side now playing out of win stadium, have a massive major sponsors, reconnecting with the community and looking for big crowds

Sydney Olympic FC - "The Revolution" as they are calling it at the club is on with the club looking to bring back all their old supportters back to the games, massive entertainement is planned, a strong board, their facebook page has over 2,500 members and hoping for a bumper crowd of over 5000 for the first home game versus Sydney United at the faboulous Belmore Sports Ground. Definately one side for the b-league for the b-league to be a success

Bonnyrigg White Eagles - The big spenders looking for crowds around 2,000 playing in a melting pot of a stadium , Brad Boardman, Bomer Brown the coach wanting to bring home the titles.

Sydney United FC - Strong squad retained from last year, Milicic gone to the heart, still not connecting with their old fans well see what happnes donw at Edensor Pakr another B-league hoepfull.

Manly United FC
- if they could capture the northenr beaches as they have the administration and the facilities could give football another hot spot!

Sutherland - In the same boat as manly need to capture the hearts of the shire a quality marketing manager is in order.

Bankstown
- With Peter Tsekenis as coach will alwasy be competitive suprising he hasnt been hit up for an a-league assistant role. Crowds of around 850.

Rockdale Ilinden - Playing out of OKI Jubilee hoping for big crowds of over 1,000 recruitment has been slow back to regulation is my bet.

Blacktown Demons - Poor crowds, indiferent squad most boring team in the comp.

West Sydney Berries - In the same boat as Blacktown

Marconi - Top class facilities, Top class players and coaches, good funding but no supportters

APIA - PLaying out of Leichhardt Oval, will battle for regulation along with rockdale

Your thoughts?

Blacktown have always been a strong contender, the richest history of any NSW club featuring the likes of sir bobby Charlton. Now that funds and stadium issues are under control they will step back up to where they rightfully belong. Also where the Rovers will begin their poaching.

Rockdale will be interesting to see but I cant see a large turn out from them in either the game or fan stakes.

United, Olympic, BWE and Marconi to step back up with regular fans since the rovers have kick started [peoples passion in the west for football and always entertaining (United and BWE to go toe to toe again and both end up relegated) the rest are the rest. no fans mediocire football and always good to make up the numbers.

See you all at Lilly holmes Stadium aka Gabbie

It will be interesting to see what crowds these clubs do get. If Sydney United get crowds of 5000 then they are on par with HAL's GCU?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck with the rovers thingy my mate, Olympic, Bonny, Sutho, Wollongong to have large crowds watch this space!

Sydney Olympic now has an official fan group called the "Olympic Ultras" massive recruitment is happenign with all the talk in the local streets of Belmore, Earlwood, St George Area being about Olympic revolution.

Belmore Sports Ground well be going off this season.

If you have not heard get on facebook.

Gaurantee Blacktown well not make the semis and will not get a bigger crowd than 500 at the home games.

ForestMan, big crowds when you have no media whatsoever is anything over 2000 people.

When interent sites, newspapers television the governing body no one promotes the game under the a-league a crowd of over 2000 is massive!

So when teams like wollongong & Olympic reach crowds over that with no media imagine what they can do with it?

Should au.fourfourtwo.com not be doing match reports and match previews on the NSW Premier league its the second biggest competition in the country i thought that is what a website liek this is for? Promoting and talking about the game? correct me if im wrong

Blacktown will be very please to get 500 through the gates. Just remember for all your recruitment you have to travel to be an Ultra.

Will be great to see the old Olympic Army at it again. Back in the NSL they were quite good.

The average crowds in state league games are something between 100 and 700 people.

Anyone who disagrees with that, doesn't attend state league games.

Go and have a look. Attend a game. It'll be an eye-opener for you.

And you'll get to have some great curry and chips, or polish sausage, or a kebab, plus some full strength beer- all at a great price!

I like my state league games. You buy stuff from there, you know you're helping your club... I just wish the same was true of the A-League :(

One article a month is not considered coverage guys.

In a month of the a-league their is probably what over 100 articles or so and the second division of the country gets 1 articles a month? is that right?

How do you then expect the game to progress?

I agree with yoru figues of 100 - 700

But lats year olympic had from 500 - 1800 so your figures arent exactly right.

Yeah, but he was talking about the average crowd. Olympic aren't really your run-of-the-mill state league team. There'll be shitty teams with shitty crowds to balance them out.

No, you are still wrong.

moderate read the posts sir.

1 - how can you call first grade squads grass roots? are you feeling ok?

2 - a match preview of the big games and match reviews of the big games not a weekly preview and round up from footballnsw website? that is not journalism thats copy the link? surely fourfourtwo is not that busy in the a-league offseason?

If you ban me for the post than so be it but it is a fair call, shows you have no respect for your readers and their opinions

Grand final between Perth SC and Western Knights saw a touch under 2000 attend. That's a decent crowd though owing it to being a big game- grand final and all.

Typical crowd at my local club (ECU Joondalup) would probably be approx 200? 300?

Someone like Perth SC would get more, but other teams would get less.

i cant believe people actually think that these teams should be in the b-league.

the b-league should be franchised in the same way as the a-league. only way it would work.

sorry to burst your bubble. but these teams deserve 4th level of the future australian pyramid at best.

brisbane, adelaide owned by the ffa, north queensland backer walks

the rovers dont have a backer

poor crowds across the board well see who walks next??

o media coverage apart from fox, are you joking now are what?

this is a serious post and factual, love to see what you all have to say.

I love how you all take offence to these post but when someone says teams that have 52 plus years of history and have built football in this country deserve to be in the 4th division is not a football fan

I think looking at the average crowds for the 2009 NSWPL season was about 500-1k depending on whose playing.

Teams like Manly United and (then Wollongong Community Football club, now South Coast United) got regualar crowds of approx. 500, although Sydney United and Olympic, Marconi, Bonnyrigg always used to pull a decent crowd.

A westie would say it's down to West Sydney being the epicenter of football in this country, but i'd put a tenner on the fact that the "ethnics" who currently root for Olympic and United, and all those Ethnic based teams won't suddenly jump up and start supporting rovers.

Well if Rovers go out and show these 'ethnics' that they are a club for the community like they will then they will get the old NSL supporters on board.
