Real Madrid Plotting £43m Swoop For Arsenal Captain Cesc Fabregas - Report
Jan 8, 2010 6:32:54 AM
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and director general Jorge Valdano have held talks over a £43 million bid for Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas during the summer, according to The Sun.
It is believed that Barcelona will come calling with a £40m offer at the end of the season, but Los Blancos are reportedly set to scupper any deal by throwing £25m-rated striker Gonzalo Higuain into the fray.
A Real insider allegedly said: "The price demanded is £43m and that is what we are basing our calculations on.
"This is 'Operation Cesc', which we hope will prove a blow to Barcelona."
Barca president Joan Laporta has in the past openly declared that he would like to bring the club's youth product back to Catalunya in the future.

Not enough......come back with £80m and I think that'd be fairer, hell if they broke the bank for Kaka then they'd better destroy it for Fabregas.

Cesc is 100% Catalun, pretty obvious he'll never join Real... If he was to leave Arsenal it would be for Barca and if he was to join Barca it would probably be some time soon as he is now in the best form of his career.
