Mate of mine works at the roar and told me they have made a 1.1 million dollar bid for Christian Veiri, which he has since knocked back, and now they have made a bid for the retired Patrick Kluivert.

Normally i'd dismiss this as bullshit as theres no links of anything. but since someone posted that rumour, and it came true about the belgium and costa rican bloke i'm wondering weather i'll hold my lips for the moment. Ange really is taking out the trash and bringing in the fruit & veg in seems.

i wish i could prove that it was real. but i can assure you that it is not a rumor.

both of them would be a great singing, if one of the deals goes through.

Well at least it gives a possible glimmer into the thinking thats going on at the Roar.
Ive had the feeling all along with the rapid actions of Ange that he and the club are acting to a plan
and a marque forward will be part of it.

1.1 mill is a huge amount of money to pay someone who could be a hit or a miss so easily, personally i wouldn't risk it.

There are enough Marquee options that are not retired and don't get injured every 2nd game. Álvaro Recoba would probably be more affordable this season as he is playing in the Uruguayan league an no longer in Europe. Van Brockhurst is another that would be possible to sign next season, as he'll be 35 and retired from the NT, but probably only by the richest A-league clubs as he's currently playing for PSV.
