I think Knights will win premiership. Also I hope Altona City get promoted!

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Victoria Premier League Round One Preview?
THE FIRST round of this season’s Victorian Premier League sees two of the competition’s heavyweights go head-to-head.

Have your say.

In the final game of the round, the Sunshine Georgies will make themselves familiar with their new home at Knights Stadium against Heidelberg on Sunday night.

What? Why did they move?
Now I have to walk like 30 minutes to watch their games, not 15.

we dont have a hope to win the league this season. Sorry bud, three-four injuries and Knights will be struggling to keep on the coat tails of the top sides.

Altona City...with Charlie Egan running his players into the ground, year after year #-o

Georgies played a few home games at Knights Stadium late last year after Chaplin Reserve was deemed unsafe for play. Will play all home games at Melbourne Knights this year.

Georgies U21s are fixtured to play at Knights as well. I don't think the main ground can cope with so much play.

Crowd - you'd think Magic-South would have the biggest of the round.

South are my tip after signing Carl Recchia, Daniel Vasilevski and former Victory man Joe Keenan. From all reports the Altona Magic squad has changed a fair bit from last season. What a great fixture first-up!

unless you plan to play on the second pitch. The contract was only for the seniors to be on the first pitch can remember one of the board members at the club saying that they would only open the gates for the seniors and thats it.

Magic-South highest crowd [-x

The second pitch is the obvious and, in my opinion, best option.

You obviously dont understand the VPL.

Melbourne Knights have lost 22 players. And, Melbourne Knights have lost all there youth players too. Melbourne Knights to fight for survival. My mates have left Melbourne Knights cause its all politics at Knights. Disagree with me now. Agree with me at the end of the season.

South V Altona 1-1 at Paisley Park

Crowd approx 2,500 - ticket sales will probably say 300 (cash is KING)

smfc had the lions share of peossession however Altona took their chance early from a corner that failed to be cleared

south equalised just before fulltime - not a bad point away from home against the defending champs

a few players missing from south including Keenan and Recchia
