Can USA shock England? NO! Both teams have issue but England have skill. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Group C: Can USA Shock England?? FABIO Capello has got an underachieving England team performing, but can a matured USA side featuring a sprinkling of decent EPL stars cause an upset. The FourFourTwo Insider podcast discuss the Group C shock factor.Have your say.

On paper it looks like Englands through to the second round easy. But games arn't one on paper. Just remember France 2002 - and look what happened there. England are in the same situation France was in back in '02.
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!

Of course they can. They play ten times, England wins 4 or 5, USA 2 or 3, the rest are draws. Same odds if England plays Oz. (Remember one of our two out of tens a few years ago - 3-1?)

Was a good podcast today... i thought Jacko was abit pessimistic, when was the last time England went through the qualifiers so comfortably... but i do agree with him that a Semi Final spot would be considered as a good tournament for England

USA only really have a few quality players, donovon, dempsey, bradley, howard, and maybe a few others, while the rest of the team is really no good at all on paper
edit; i'm good at stating the bleedin' obvious aren't i

It would be strange. as the best players in USA play at the same level as almost all the english players. But England are pretty dissapointing.

Heineken fell for it. Hook, line and sinker. lol
anyway, USA will not beat England. BUT The USA went into France 1998 with big expectations and fkd up, 2002 they did really well when they werent expected too, 2006 they fkd up. But maybe in 2010 they will come good. But not against England. The Pommie poofs will walk through this group.

USA might even lose out to Slovenia or Algeria in escaping the easiest group of the finals.

would have killed to be in that group... not because of England, but how open it is to get that 2nd spot... alegria and slovenia or the united states for 2nd against us you'd back your chances. Even the NZ group is better than ours to get out of with Paraguay and Slovakia

The English have a good, " continental " coach. Who'd have thunk it years ago; the Brits admitting that they weren't the best football team and they could learn from the Ities? USA used their counter-attack to beat Spain but twice - I think not Capello is way too clever to fall for that in the World Cup. England pretty easily.

BennyCampo wrote:hate em both. Pommie poofs and Yankie Doodles Seriously? Could you be any more stupid? Not only is that pointlessly derogatory, but there are scores of people on here both born in england or who have english heritage and are proud of it. Go stand in the corner you right fucking pillock. Long story short, NO. USA don't have the depth or breadth of tallent to hold a candle to england. Their side is lacking in almsot every aspect and it never ceases to amaze me that they even qualify at all for the world cup. Now taht I've said that they'll probably beat them ](*,)
