Ballack has not performed nearly well enough and was only barely back from injury in the first place. Germany have so many brilliant young players coming trough that I don't think it is going to hurt their chances at finishing in the top two.
It is not going to advantage Australia either though.
I Vote Meh. That's what I fear. chicken shit  A Frenchman calling someone chicken-shit. Can there be any greater contradiction than that?:p LOL and it begins!!! ;)

I guess if a star player went out with an injury in a different group to Australia's, I'd probably be disappointed too. At the moment, I'm ecstatic about Ballack's injury. Though, like Gollum the Frenchie says, one man doesn't make a team. I'm sure the Germans have a pretty good replacement for him. At least with Ballack we knew what we were up against.

I think we have to look at it realisticly. Germany is Germany they have never really relied on one player. They are a unit, as much as I am pleased Ballack will miss the tournament, we have to remember its not just a positive for Australia but also Ghana and Serbia will be pleased aswell. So really does it change anything?

Fox Sports summed it up perfectly:
"Germany's loss is Australia's gain".
You never wish injury upon anyone and I mean anyone, and I really do feel for the bloke as it is the biggest tournament in the World and most likely his last. But it does give Australia a bit more of a boost.

I found myself quite happy that Germany were with out Ballack, then I realised that he himself personally must be shattered.
Then I think oh well GO AUSSIES!!!
What do you guys think?
