All you Australian faggots that are having a go at Fallon, GGF. Seriously. Hes only trying to spice it up a bit and of course hes not gonna be all safe and only give 50%. Who would when theres 4 decent strikers fighting for spots.

Get real, this is a farewell match & a chance for both teams to bed down their starting 11s. We have bigger fish to fry than the Socceroos & the same goes for you guys.

I remember meeting Jason Culina and his Aust U-17 team-mates in 1996 a few days before they were due to play NZ in the decider for qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Egypt. They were walking down the main street here in Christchurch in their blazers, I immediately recognized them, since I was following the tournament, and said to them as I made a point of walking straight through their group: "You're going to lose, you're going to lose!!!" And that's what they did that weekend...so, hope this is a good omen for the All Whites!!! As Culina says, they should indeed "Beware the Kiwis!"

I think if Australia fields a second string side, we have a better chance of defeating New Zealand than if we fieded our starting 11.
Reason being, the first-string team will be instructed to avoid injuries. The second-string team will go all-out fighting for selection.

I must admit I'm hoping we don't lose at home... bad result here could do some damage with Denmark and USA coming up before Germany

Look. You can't expect Rory to have it both: a perfect head for scoring goals AND a brain to think with before the mouth snaps into gear. As long he does the former at the WC then I won't care about the latter. Go The Aussies! Go the Kiwis!

I for one hope Australia find their structure and game plan but lose 1/2 - That way we get what we need from the match while making Germany, Serbia and Ghana underestimate us even more.

I'd like to see some fringe boys get a run like Federici, Lowry, Vidosic and Rukavytsya, particularly Federici. I've been a bit surprised by Rory Fallons remarks, the guy needs to pull his head in quick smart. No one, not us, not them need injuries prior to a World Cup. Plus I find his new found patriotism hard to stomach as it was him (IIRC) ummed and ahhed about playing for the All Whites in the first place

Of course Oz are fav's for this gig, but I dont think anyone will be 'shocked' as such if they lose, its not like theyre playing American Samoa... NZ have beaten OZ before and can do it again. Its football after all...
but yeah, these games are vital for both sides regardless of the result. Probably more so for us, especially with two uncapped players, one of whom Ricki Herbert has never seen play and only met for the first time yesterday!

+1 The final score doesn't really matter, the fact that our boys get a run and can start to work on building momentum for the WC. Fringe players getting a good chance as well to prove what they can do is also important.

Once you start underestimating teams is exactly the time you should start to worry.

The Soceroos should (technically) walk it in, but don't underestimate the absolute passion of the kiwis to take it up to the Aussies. Just as the Socceroos stepped up a few years back to beat their long-term nemesis the Poms, the kiwis would love nothing more than lauding it over the big brother next door.

Go the Aussies! What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Culina: Beware The Kiwis? THEY might be ranked 58 places behind Australia on FIFA's official world rankings but Socceroos midfielder Jason Culina knows better than anyone not to underestimate New Zealand in Monday night's World Cup farewell friendly at the MCG.Have your say.
