i think some of our top senior players like breciano, grella and moore looked really of the pace tonight. So it wasnt a surprise that australia only got into the match when those three were off.

well done for winning, but good luck getting out of your pool playing like that! Grella needs his kneecaps broken by the way.

Moore was shocking, Grella should be absolutely embarrassed, Culina only woke up after half time.

BRETT HOLMAN HATERS CAN GO EAT A BIG FAT DICK (though I'm sure you're on it every night)
Lets put it in perspective - yes, NZ were better in the first half, but we gave them a footballing lesson in the second half - the lesson: play til the final whistle LOL.
Furthermore - we were playing without: kewell, emmerton, chipperfield, schwarzer, wilkshire (so five of our automatic starting XI). We were always going to be fielding an experimental side - the kiwis were fielding their strongest side...and still lost.
Pretty ironic Rory Fallon (WHO THE F*CK IS RORY FALLON???!) talking up injuring Aussie players mid-week, and no less than 3 kiwis went off with injuries. F*ck, you wanna talk smack, accept the consequences - c*nt.

charliec wrote:The best team DIDNT win tonight. Very luck Aust NZ were good value for their lead in the first-half, but were pretty ordinary after the break. Maybe we didn't deserve the win, but they weren't better than us. Curiously we played better after the changes. Craig Moore for Beauchamp was a good move, still worries in the air though. Liked Vidosic's game when we pushed on forward in the 2nd half. To miss the plane for me; Holland, Lowry and Nick Carle (or Garcia).

I'm convinced from that performance that Moore is well past his use by date

Good game for showing up weaknesses. Think both teams will struggle playing like that. Will be interesting to see how we go next week. Good lead in game as long as we lift each game we play and start to finalise our 11 to get some consistancy.

Reason - Do you really think that Fallon said what the media indicated, the media played that up and obviously you sucked it right up. Aust played terribly today, improvement very much needed

Moore was not up to standard at all, and was at fault for the first goal. Jedinak did well as he won most of the arial balls, and again no carle??? looks like he's not gonna be in SA

euroos - You are right, Beauchamp was a very good move. He played well. It was probably a good hit out for both teams

good game, shame about the result... wonder what the All whites will do with Grellas shirt in the changing room... i bet the piss on it... wanker... mind you Cahill not far behind him
Culina has to play more forward ... he was the only class on the pitch , well him and Elliott.
but thank fuck that games over...

Holman played very no one can take that away form him he made good runs and had a good finish say what you want he played well.
On the flip side what the HELL WAS MOORE DOING when NZ scored?? we ducked under the ball!!! and let it go to Killen thats disgracful.
Vidosic is a real shining light for Australia another good finish.
Culina play very well second half no touches
Jedi played well
David Carney playing shocking lost the ball 2/3 three times he had it.
Fredici how did liverpool ever want him?
Overall a dissapointing 1st half but i think we played well in the 2nd New Zealand played well i felt.
Holman has got to have gone form Zero to hero that was a fantastic run and a fantastic goal. I never throught he was any good i asked my self why pim kept picking him but i think i see why hehas pace and he may lack on the ball ability but he really runs and that might be the of the bench injection the Socceroos need like Cahill was in 06!

i would suggest new zealand. when you have no expectations whatsoever, the idea of 23 guys getting a free holiday is excellent.

Wonderful to see how friendlies promote international goodwill......
Seriously though [?!!??] who cares? What is going to count is what each coach has learnt for the Cup not the result.
[But would I be saying that if Australia had lost?]

Cahill foot 3 feet off the ground with studs up and Robbie and SImon say accidental contact. I am huge Aus fan, but cmon it wasn't accidental, he got him good!!! Don't even get me started on Grella's that was worse!!!
Good second half by Aussies. Found way to win!!!
