The value for AW's playing in the World Cup is bigger than the chance (or lack thereof) of them progressing - the confidence it gives NZ as a footballing nation and the boom it's given to the sport are worth far more. They come into the tournament having fulfilled plenty already and any goals or points earned are a bonus. As long as we can come back with our heads held high saying we held our own among the world's best, it can only be a success - and all those flagging our "chances" really are missing the point.
