Of course it isn't a "boost", because Ghana will also be "weaker" against Germany and Serbia as well...

I think this gives us a boost for sure. lets be honest we are pretty large underdogs against germany and serbia. Ghana without Essien is a game we should win and then if we can get somehow pull of a draw against either serbia or germany then it might just be enough to get us through!
