Denmark ruled out for Kewell, Emerton
AAP - May 29, 2010, 11:35 pm
Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek has ruled Harry Kewell and Brett Emerton out of Australia's friendly against Denmark on Tuesday but remains confident they are well on track for World Cup action.
Verbeek admitted neither of the injured duo would be ready for the match against Denmark in Roodepoort.
Both were unable to train fully with their teammates on Saturday at their pre-World Cup training camp in Johannesburg - Emerton a virtual spectator during another tough session as he nurses a calf niggle.
Kewell's groin was being worked on by medical staff, though he joined in training during the two sessions on Friday.
But Verbeek says both will be in the frame to play in the Socceroos' final friendly before the World Cup against the United States on June 5.
"Definitely not Denmark - that is too soon," Verbeek said of his injured duo.
"Harry joined with the boys yesterday. For Brett I have no concerns. He is one of our fittest players. It is just about not taking any risks."
Emerton's injury may mean a call-up for Hull City wide midfielder Richard Garcia, who trained well on Saturday.
Verbeek suggested West Australian Garcia, who missed last week's friendly against New Zealand through injury, was a strong chance to see game time against the Danes.

As long as her name wasn't Inga from Sweden I think it's fine.

Better he miss out on these games and be fit for the actual cup instead of getting half way through Germany then having to pull out.
