Cesare Prandelli to take Italy job
[/size]
Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli will replace Marcello Lippi as Italy boss after the World Cup after it was revealed that he will sign a four-year contract.
Prandelli will be officially presented after the World Cup and there are details which have yet to be decided, like the make-up of the backroom staff.
The coach has spent five years at Fiorentina, twice taking them into the Champions Leagueand has now reached an agreement with Federation President Giancarlo Abete.
"Prandelli will be coach for four-years," an Italian soccer federation spokesman said. ''He will be officially presented as Italy's coach after the World Cup".
Departing coach Lippi believes the federation have got the right man to replace him.
''I told the president Abete at Christmas that I intended to finish these two years and then leave,'' Lippi said. ''Prandelli is the right person in the right place, but we will talk about this more in depth in the future. We will also talk further down the line, if you like, of the reasons which have pushed me to leave the national team for the second time.''
Former national coach Arrigo Sacchi is also confident Prandelli will do a fine job at the Italy helm.
He told Sky Italia: ''Cesare has shown already many times that he is a great coach, a great personality. He is technically excellent and a person I respect. Working for the national team is not like being a club coach - you are a coach that has to do a lot in a short space of time.'

Interesting to see if he can do better than Donadoni when he took over from Lippi.

As long as he doesn't change the entire team 3 times in 4 games in a major tournament!
