ive done some reading on the jabulani, and theyve designed it to have true flight and for the ball to go exactly where its intended.

thats brilliant, if its 1960 and youve been brought up playing with a sodden leather bladder! but its 2010, and the players, having been treated to tricolores, questras, fevernova's etc wont remember the last time they kicked a ball straight! giving them a ball that gives a different result may not be such a bad thing, but using it only a few weeks out from the greatest show on earth may be too soon. what does everyone else think?

I think there has to come a time where we have to give technology are break and leave the balls as they are. Why do we have to keep improving everything each year. By 2014/18 the world cup balls will just be balloons. Hopefully they dont become anymore unpredictable in the future

i didnt realise theyve been using it in the bundesliga...thats ominous for us in the opening game! ive been watching the german weekly goals roundup on the ONE channel, its a better league than many credit it for.

simmo's right, there is a real fear about the ball becoming a balloon...it seems like since 1970 every wc or euro champs they are reducing the number of panels, number of layers and number of stitches. 2014 might be too soon for the boffins to get it to balloon level but im backing them to achieve it for 2030!! anything is possible in football while sepp blatter is in power!!

Its all just for marketing and so that Adidas can make a few more million euro's. I have seen these balls on sale from anywhere between $149.00 and $199.00!! And the PR about it having "true flight" is obviously a bollocks. Every comment from evry player, outfield or goalie, has been that it deviates and floats A LOT. Hence SuperTim's neck injury.
