Tim Cahill wears Brett Holman PJs! What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Holman: Belief Is The Power? BRETT Holman says that self-belief and belief in your mates has the power to make you a formidable challenge for any opponent and that the Socceroos have bucket loads of both.Have your say.

What Holman is saying really is true, you know. It all comes down to confidence and personal belief. If you believe you can do it, you will most likely do it.
Imagine how screwed our team would be if they had the same mindset as some forum members do (Germany are Gods of football and we haven't got a chance in beating them).
You go Holman :) Prove all the doubters and haters wrong.

I think this is the difference in Holman now. I think he has some self belief now.
Before, everytime he got the ball, he just wanted to give it back to somebody. He was afraid of actually having the ball, and was loathe to have any responsibility.
Now, he is willing to run with the ball and try to pass it.
Decent weapon off the bench.

Actually, Whoreman, what wins games is the ability to pass the ball, at the right time, with accuracy, to a teammate. And to find the back of the net when you're one-on-one with the keeper. Fundamentals that seem to be beyond you, sunshine.

I like Golman he is the only player he has a certain pace to him off the bench that oppisition seem to struggle with. If we can hold germany to Nil-nil for 75min Holman, Dario and Kewell could come off the bench and win it with a large injection of pace.

Its good to see Holman playing pretty well recently. Seems like he is one of those confidence players, he just needed a few good performances to get his self-belief going. He will prove to be a good weapon off the bench for us.

I'm with Villaboy, no one on this site had anything nice to say about Lolman before he scored, short memories you all have, in every other game this guy coughed up the ball so often it was like he was playing for the other team. I want him to be a hero, its only natural but in reality, fuck me.

Stiflersmom Rubbish there is a hardcore of persons who know the game that understand Holmans value to the team. The rest are just ignoramuses suffering from Heineken disease.

I had swung around to backing Holman prior to his goal based on the effort and endevour he gives to the team. Plus his club form has been very good, he is young and can only continue to improve.

Look if he has finally gelled and found his National Form then great.
We all understand his skill and experience but up until the last 2 1/2 games he hasn't been any good at National level.
I hope all it takes is faith, he gets the Golden Boot and scores the winning goal against Germany.
But we all have every right to be cynical.

Cant wait for the day an Australian player talks about getting through on skill and ability. Faith and self belief (read wing and a prayer). All the same I`ve put my hard earned on Australia making it through the group. At 3.20 its a must :))

if its so easy why aren't you out there doing instead of sitting an anonymous forum taking pot shots at a player that representing you're country?

Holmans work ethic has always been very high and the major play of his game is to run around and pressure the oppostion.
What I want Holman to improve on is his passing and shooting. Generally he is in good positions on the field when we have posession. If he develops his passing and shooting he could be a star. If he doesn;t the youthful ability to run around like a headless choke for 90minutes will leave him and he will struggle.
In the end I'm Aussie and if puts one over the Euro snobs I can think of nothing more satisfying.

Australia will do it's best by having a game plan, not giving away fre kicks for silly fouls and by becoming a fortress and frustrating opponents.Holman is the kind of guy you want on the break but his shooting has been less impressive than his speed until now.A bit of belief and a good game plan is good enough to at least earn some respect.

Please Please Please dear GOD let Jedinak and Valeri be starting. Holman will make a decent sub of the bench if they are tiring. Good potential replacement for Cahill as lets face it he cant pass or dribble either. But He CAN score :-) Is there a thread for what team you'd like to see? If not please hijak this one. Interested in people's thoughts.

He scores one goal and all of a sudden everyone's calling him "Golman" and having a wank over him. Lets get real. Consistency is what's needed and that's the one thing that Holman definitely doesn't have.

I'm pleased for the team that Holman seems to have found some form. However, I think it is absolutely crazy that a bloke can win 30 international caps without proving himself. I hope Holman kicks on, scores a bag full of goals and becomes an Aussie superhero (Cahill style). However, I'll never regret giving him stick about his performances over most of his first 29 international appearances.
