One thing Aussie players haven't learned well yet is when to shut up and stop moaning and bitching. It doesn't sit well. Neill and Moore and Grella, Culina too..all tend to have their little tirades that we cannot afford. Am I the only one worried at the petualnce of Harry Kewell in light of past displays? The refs don't like it and Pim should be getting that point across. I know Lucas is just doing what he thinks is right, but he tends to spraff on as much as Sasho Petrovski sometimes. Let the issue be sorted out by FIFA as too much whingeing may have the reverse effect IMHO.I believe that any official worth their salt will watch the video and see the same harmless challenge and overreaction by the ref that we all saw. They don't want to be losing such key players at the WC over such relatively minor indiscretions. Shut up Lucas and concentrate on being a captain on the field. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Neill Pleads The Case For Cahill? AUSTRALIA captain Lucas Neill says there is no way Tim Cahill deserves any more than a one-match ban from FIFA following the straight red card he received in the 4-0 World Cup loss to Germany.Have your say.

Kinda agree with OD, but as the captain, he should be having a say of sorts. After all, it really is his job to speak and talk on the behalf of the team.

Side should be Schwarz Wilko Neil Beachy Chippers Valeri Culina Emerton Holman Kewell Kennedy At least we may have some attack out of this Group. I think Ruck and Vidosic the subs first to come on. The younger ones should have been used earlier.

A studs up tackle from behind is an automatic send off. Cahill clearly knew before making contact that he had miss judged the tackle and was backing off prior. He clipped him with the knees but obviously the refs angle it looked pretty bad. The studs clearly were not up. I feel just as gutted as Timmy as he was in my SBS fantasy team and that decision cost me badly -10 points.

Did everyone skip Maths at school? We don't "have" to win both matches to progress. Although it might not seem possible, if we beat Ghana and the Germans draw with Serbia, Germany should pick themselves up to beat Ghana and we'd only have to draw with Serbia to go through. Not too different to what we had to do 4yrs ago, just in a slightly different order.

Not too different to what we had to do 4yrs ago, just in a slightly different order. But apparently the sky is falling and we have bombed out and might as well pack our bags and go home. I did not think we played that badly. If we had got the penalty and Cahill a yellow then we might be in a lot cheerier mood with a closer score line. FFS, what did people expect the Socceroos to do??? Win the fucking game? Once the penalty was missed and Cahill got sent off it was good night Socceroos. They probably thought the same and were happy to get away with a 4-0 loss to prepare for the next game. Shit, what would have happened in '06 if we had lost to Brazil in the first game, probably the same now. Let's all take a chill pill and support the Socceroos as we beat Ghana and then draw with Serbia to progress. Shit, we could even draw with Ghana and then beat Serbia and progress (as long as Germany pummel Ghana too). Having said that, Pim will fuck it all up. Glad he's leaving.

I think Cahill's red was the fourth or fifth of the tournament at that point. I am not sure how many of the previous send offs were straight reds. However, if there were any previous straight reds then the circumstances and the penalties given out would probably be good precedents against which to estimate the likely length of Cahill's penalty.

What are you all worried about? theres no way he will get an additional suspension for that, in a decision review situation fifa will clearly see, although they will never publically admit it, that it was only ever a yellow, the red was harsh. No way will they think its worthy of an additional suspension, so don't worry about it!

Where's the effing team discipline? Cahill (and Grella) were walking red cards after NZ - did anyone talk sternly to Cahill about it, or is he untouchable? Especially by his mate the so-called captain? This tackle was maybe a reddish yellow or yellowish red card - but either way it was a stupid disgrace - especially after NZ.
