It wasn't a cross, there was no-one on the far post and I'm pretty sure Maicon looked up, saw DPR Korea's keeper off his line and then shot.

Not really.
One group gets paid (and paid well) to appear like they are having fun and supporting dear leader. The other gets locked into dear leaders work camps if they appear they are having fun.

I'd give it as a shot, unless he had a teammate at the far post (which you can't see in the above link).

The headline's a bit misleading...also N.korea are 105th not 85th.

Oh dear, again we are reminded, North Korea too are showing us how it's done. Well done North Korea, really evoking that spirit of '66. They earnt their place in this WC and now they will show the world how they beat out the likes of Iran and Saudi Arabia for their WC place.
Honestly I am still perplexed by Australia's performance, yet NZ and NK make it look soo simple. Why on earth couldn't we just do the same? Foolish?

Masterclass from Maicon, tremendous vision to see the keeper half a meter off his line and then great finesse to curl the ball in 8-[ :p
I didn't watch the game, but it sounds like the Koreans did an alright job.
Also, lets get some spelling right, don't want people getting confused "Maicon's cross-cum-shot"

Great Maicon goal, great ball for Elano's goal - but Brazil were static and drab-looking. Looked like they thought they could just show up and pass the ball around and walk it in. North Korea really showed what passion, fight and belief can do for a side against the big boys...

I watched this game. Brazil were brilliant on the ball as usual, but nobody was moving off it. Looked like they wanted to just nutmeg everyone in the NK defence to get a goal. Robinho looked sharp and Maicon's goal was genius, but NK parked the bus and Brazil couldn't shift it. Actually, I was thinking that NK taught Pim a lesson in bus parking. Maybe Chippers could do a demo? What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Korea Stun Brazil's Samba Stars? BRAZIL began their quest for a sixth world crown with 2-1 victory over North Korea but it was far from a vintage display from Dunga's men against hard-working opposition.Have your say.
