We all knew that a strong defence was what would break Spain down. I just didn't expect it to be in the first game against Switzerland!
I'm devastated with the loss, and it was compounded with my power going out just 5 minutes before the goal too. So I was following the game over Twitter, because Optus' 3G stream DID NOT WORK.

Too bad I fell asleep before the game ended. I would have gained much satisfaction seeing the smug face of Craig Foster wiped away in shock.

Kept their concentration and fitness right until the end. However the ref did allow them too much persistent fouling without yellow cards. Couldn't stop singing: Are you watching, Are you watching, Are you watching Pim Verbeek, Are you watching Pim Verbeek.

Rubbish! The better team lost. Spain dominated every stat except the one that most counts.
This will be a tragedy if Spain dont get through the group. Be prepared for a boring defensive WC Finals.
Be prepared for a boring and already annoying WC Finals. Ironically the Swiss tactics should have been the same tactics that Pim should have used against Germany. Flood your defensive and quick counter attack.

Statistically losing your first game results in a 90% chance of not going on to the second round..

Agreed, I was surprised with the goal. I did enjoy seeing Spain lose...but not happy...if that makes any sense. One reason for that though, this isn't the result Chile needed. Don't think it is a good thing. Hope that Chile can get a win against the Swiss. Because, they would pretty much clinch it for them. But, for Spain, it may come down to that last game against Chile. So, they'll be going hard against them. If Chile win against the Swiss, they should be able to play with some real confidence against Spain. It could end up being a real good game...but, could be a real dangerous game if Chile lose to the Swiss. I would've preferred Spain to pick up the win in their first game...just because they might not have of tried as hard in that last game against Chile.

SPAIN!!! >:( After such a low scoring tournament so far I was hoping Spain would be onsong and bang in some goals. What an awful time to lose form. Hopefully just a small blip on the radar. Too much quality not to escape the group, so they should win their next two. Or will they? O_o

I watched like the first 20 minutes or so and seriously Spain are a boring team to watch. If Barcelona play like that... Guess they need Messi. haha

Shock of the tournament. This is turning into a very interesting group. Very possible for three teams to end up on 6 points each - sorry Honduras. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Hasta La Swiss-ta As Spain Lose? SWITZERLAND stunned European champions Spain in the first big upset at the World Cup with a narrow 1-0 win in the teams' Group H opener in Durban.Have your say.
