doesn't matter. We are no match for Serbia.Best result would be to beat Ghana by a few goals and then let the Germans fall on the yellow cards they earned tonight.Australia must not get more cards and must exploit the cards that Serbia picked up against Germany..how ironic it is that the red card we got against Germany was reciprocated by an even softer red card.Klose of all people.Could Germany be in the same dire straits as France out of this?

If we just play like the way we have been for the last 2 years under Verbeek we can beat Ghana and Serbia. Defensive, play on the counter and long balls to Kennedy. It's not pretty but it worked against the likes of Japan in qualifying, it can work again.

I think you guys can and will win this, The team has nothing to lose and as long as they go out to play with attacking intent you have a good chance. I also think you will beat Serbia

Hate to say it but Beauchamp looked good in the friendlies and I would love to see him start instead of Moore. Just a comment, nothing more.

We still have a chance yes, but if Pim picks the team like he did against Germany, i might start binge drinking.

Should take some heart from the Arg vs S.korea game. The koreans looked great against Greece but were cut up by Argentina, like we were by Germany. Could just be a big gap in class between the top 7 teams and the rest...
Hope so anyway

We can beat Ghana, but I'm not really sure. Craig Moore down back is a concern. He's far too slow. Harry and Kennedy would be a nice boost.

i dont think the pressure will be the issue, these Africans are strong & can run all day. The goals will come if we play our normal game & counter-attack

yeah agree with you smoky - its not the skills or the talent which I doubt at the moment - we are good enough to beat both Ghana and Serbia... its the sting from being beaten and opened up so easily... wonder if it will make the boys too cautious in their play / or overly zealous to tackle anyone and anything that moves... either response wont secure a win...

Holman will start for sure given he was probably the best Aussie on the field when he was on.
Schwarzer-Wilkshire-Milligan-Neill-Chipperfield-Valeri-Culina-Emerton-Holman-Bresciano-Kewell.

+1 Ghana should be beatable, but I wonder with the humiliation from the Germany game and the absolute need to win against Ghana, that the pressure will be too much and Aus will yield a goal early on. I only hope Verbeek starts Kewell, Holman, Kennedy and Bresc. Sub them if they're no good, or if we go ahead.

I hope he is right.A few Kennedy headers are called for.I hope the fired-up Harry kewell can provide some magic too. Between Kewell,Kennedy and Holman you would think there is ample chance for goals, but more important maybe stopping the leak at the other end and the defence will have to be tight as a drum this time around. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Ghana Wary Of Wounded Roos? GHANA coach Milovan Rajevac has admitted he is wary that a wounded Australia will unleash its fury when the teams meet in Rustenburg in a crucial Group D match on Saturday.Have your say.
