Bad luck NZ! Aus v NZ 2014 world cup?

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article 'It Was All White on the Night'?
RICKI Herbert felt his unbeaten All Whites bowed out of the World Cup with pride as they missed the knockout stages by just a point despite drawing with Paraguay.

Have your say.

Herbert's contract ran out at the end of the tournament but he refused to say what the future held for him.

"The future looks extremely bright for this team. It will be the next coach's job to look and find and see what they think."

Well it's pretty clear what he won't be doing.
No doubt he'll be fielding international job offers.

New Zealand did there country proud santa cruz said new zealand made the game boring by being defensive well ofcourse they were defensive they still had a chance of making the world cup so they will still counter attack, easy for someone like him to say that cause his team was already through. Herbert what a great manager in terms of group unity and team bonding everyone playing for each other, just shows what a team can do what your manager has faith and believes in you with saying that fuck you pim glad to see u go. Hopefully the next manager believes in the aussies as we should how good we can be in attack.

Hey Stefcep
You must be happy about Ghana going through to the next round? How after watching these mugs play you are still on them mystifies me but as I noted you are president of ILGBA. Ghana-simply the worst team from Africa ever to qualify-a disgrace!!

A bit of a shame if he isn't available to lead NZ to the 2014 World Cup, but maybe by then he'll be managing the Socceroos!

Good luck to him.. he deserves to go make the big cash for awhile.

What he has done for New Zealand football is priceless.

Congrats to the All Whites! In many respects they were there in SA to make a statement rather than really trying to progress! The All Whites hardly attacked over the 3 games and really were lucky to score the Smeltz goal. In general, Herbert was relying on some fortune to progress, but scoring opportunities at this level are your own making rather than waiting for an opponent to gift you one.

So it is a great story for the Kiwis, but I bemoaned the number of chances they pushed to create real goal scoring opportunities. At the end of the day you still need to win and Paraguay weren't going to gift one to NZ. 3 games played. No. of WINS: ZIP
