Only thing is when would next season start. I assume it would start a bit later in the summer, and then maybe next year start it at the start of summer.

It will suck ass big time, but will benefit the O.U as many of our members are (state league) football player or (state league) referee's, which means our games won't clash with Olympic = more consistent numbers and more away trips :D

the only logic i see in this would be because of the FA cup style competition perhaps.
Not a Phase, Not a Trend, SYDNEY UNITED till the END!

I've heard a couple of similar rumours regarding the VPL.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is the first step in bringing in an FFA Cup.

I must say that I am undecided about this. Having the VPL and NSWPL season's in winter gives football a year round, and less overlap, or competition, between State League and HAL matches for crowds.
It will make an FFA Cup much easier, but it might make it harder for some fans to get to both comps.

No consideration for youth, most youth teams share their training grounds with cricket teams, also what about almost three months of school holydays and how can kids play in the heat. Youth games start for U13 9am through to 3pm for U 18 or is this going to be only 1st grade and 20s comp, than how would U18 players play up for U20. With youth development in mind this is a very bad idea. What about A league crowds with games running on same days? Nothin to gain out of this #-o
