It. Is. Not. A. Fucking. Transfer. Fee.

The only club that must pay a development fee is the first club that the player signs a professional contract with.

Putting aside any agenda PAOKTZI may have, it's ridiculous that A-League clubs need only pay $3,000 compensation to clubs that are developing our future national players.

Take Rukavytsya as an example, he was only a bench player when he started at Perth Glory, eventually tore up the A-League and then went to Twente for a fee of around $1mil. Would figure his state league club would deserve a bit more than $3,000.

Anywho...

FFS IT IS NOT A TRANSFER FEE!

Sorry but I find it extremely annoying hearing about this supposed transfer fee.

Why should you? Was AUFC the first club to give Iain a professional contract?

I'm not sure there is a player called Ian Ramsey at any A-League club, I'm not sure what you're on about.

Iain Ramsey is at AUFC - didn't he come through their youth system? ;)

If you don't know how to find the information yourself it is in the document: http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/site/_content/document/00000360-source.pdf on page 32 and is point 10.3 Amount of Training Compensation.

By the way, the 3k is not a transfer fee, stop calling it a transfer fee. It never was and never is going to be a transfer fee. Go have a read of the FFA material in relation to it, it is a development fee that has been mandated by the FFA in line with FIFA requirments. Learn to read, and comprehend, then you will stop posting such uninformed and factual erroneous information PAOKTZI.

Ok so Sydney Olympic FC made Ian Ramsey spent three years with SOFC first grade and we were the first club to give him a go in first grade, but due to him signing a pro contract in Scotland 3 years ago but not playing SOFC got from his transfer to Adeliade United a massive $0.00 is this the type of professionalism and modern day approach the new FFA has brought to the game.

You then ask what is the point of state league clubs beeing around?

Love to hear the new dawners thoughts on this one

Transfers restrict movement of players.

If there were significant transfer fees for professional clubs to pay for players playing in amateur or semi professional leagues, less players would be transferred.

If it is detrimental to the development of professional football in Australia, it would not be a FIFA sanctioned rule.

As for the point of state league clubs - they are not, and should not be, run as businesses. They are open for anyone who wants to be a part of them and to provide an outlet for non-professional players to play competitive, organised, and quality football. Simple as that.

I agree, this is fucked.
Why the fuck would you cap transfers at $3k? If the player is worth that much, then okay, but there are some great players who have been lost at such crappy fees.

It's times like these I actually do feel sorry for these clubs.

please stop falling for that bullshit

if all a-league clubs had to pay for there players then yes, simple as that

I have a simple term to introduce you to.

Free Agent

If a club in FFA control, such as Adelaide, had to pay a transfer fee for a fringe player like Ramsey, it would be highly likely that they would just sign an off-contract player from somewhere else.

Was he under full-time contract to Olympic?
If so how much was the monetary value remaining on his contract?

If not, it's just like losing a free-agent. Move on with life.
