South Coast Wolves v Sydney Olympic FC trial games Results posted by on February 7, 2011 The first trial games for all our boys youth teams, were held this Sunday at Macedonia Park. Coaches had the chance to see their teams against our first opponents in the 2011 Premier League in March and make some useful notes to fine tune their teams before the competition commences. Results and reports on the games can be found below: Under 13s Sydney Olympic under 13's got their 2011 season underway with a strong performance against fellow Premier Youth League outfit South Coast Wolves over the weekend. The match was played in hot and sticky conditions but our boys stuck to the game plan and kept the ball on the grass and passed the ball together well. 6-1 was the final score, a great start for the boys and a super individual effort for Troy Cheung scoring four of the sides six goals. Congratulations boys! For a detailed report on the Under 13s game, please click HERE Under 14s The Under 14s kicked off the season with a 4-0 win over South Coast Wolves. A very good game by the boys and positive comments from everyone for the team that is being built by the coaching staff. For a detailed report on the Under 14s game, please click HERE Under 15s The U15’s started off 2011 with a good performance by beating the Wolves 1-0. In the first half, Claudio Fabiano made some effective runs down the right hand side while Thomas Bonomy and Gandor Bah combined well up front to pose problems for the Wolves defence. In the 32nd minute, Deen Khan became the teams leading goal scorer for 2011 when he scored off a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the second half, Olympic continued to create chances as they did in the first half. Overall it was a pleasing performance for this time of the year, however everyone is aware that there is a lot of improvement to be made. Under 16s Under 16s Sydney Olympic vs Wolves, Lost 2-1 (full time), 2-0 (half time). The 16s were tested by severe winds and grizzly conditions in Wollongong and this definitely affected the outcome of the 1st half as some silly mistakes led to a couple of goals to the home side. However, "the blues", came out with much more purpose, demanding the ball and keeping the opposition at bay. Sydney Olympic domination was rewarded with a goal 15mins from the end through some good work from Zac and Petro on the right. Olympic continued to dominate in search of an equalizer through a number of fantastic strikes by the likes of Domenico and Chris, who struck the woodwork. An encouraging performance in the second half and definitely a game that will assist the coaching staff to fine tune the side in the coming weeks. For a detailed report on the Under 16s game, please click HERE Under 18s The Under 18s started the season with a loss this weekend but showed some quality on the pitch. We lost the game 3-2 but could have easily won the game if we converted the chances that we created. The coaching staff once again had the opportunity to make some useful notes that will take back to training and work on the weaker points of the team, to make sure they improve and with hard work they become better and better every week. For a detailed report on the Under 18s game, please click HERE Next trial game for all age groups of our boys teams, this Sunday 13.02.2011 against Parramatta at Melita Stadium. Please confirm with your coaches/managers or check our website for the times of each game. http://www.sydneyolympicfc.com/news/2011/02/07/south-coast-wolves-v-sydney-olympic-fc-trial-games-results/

Yet we all have to continue to put up with such statements, as we all must bow to his/her wishes. I for one am happy Lowy took on the role to re-launch football in this country. Damn we would still be in the S*** now if he didnt, much to the annoyance of a few in the football community who will never agree. It was never going to be easy, but hes done a great job so far, with a few lessons learnt along the way :)

This is not just a football matter but a humanitarian one
Great to see Clubs with this type of reach helping the needy - parents and volunteers represent these clubs as much as board, committees, coaches and players
The FFA should be the ones assisting these kids - they should have a grant in place like tho old days - not the parents - what the fuck are they there for?......oh that's right - lets get the HAL fixed first
I bet this kid probably has to pay to watch Sydney FC or maybe even the Mums and dads at Olympic provide the kis with some coin from time to time

Oh dear your A-League vendetta looking dumber by the day when someone who has done more for the club than you will ever do accepts the A-League and the fact Olympic aren't /wont be a part of it

He/she is proud of his side obviously, and clubs like this do many good things for the game, including this one. Its the negativity and baseless rubbish that is posted by people like him/her, or others like them, that really do get beyond a joke though. Its unfortunate that such action is taken, as it does nothing for the cause or the game as a whole.
