Shadow Minister for Healthy Lifestyles and Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries and Liberal Candidate for Riverstone Kevin Conolly visited Valentine Sports Park on Wednesday afternoon to discuss Football NSW’ proposed project at Riverstone West.
Both were thrilled at the initiative shown by Football NSW to build a multi-million dollar multi-purpose sports complex in Sydney’s north-west.
Shadow Minister for Healthy Lifestyles and Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries and Liberal Candidate for Riverstone Kevin Conolly were given a tour of the current facilities at Valentine Sports Park as well as the site of the proposed construction at Riverstone West.
Liberal Candidate for Riverstone Kevin Conolly believes Football NSW’ proposed development in Riverstone West will bring further employment to the local community as well as being a great attraction for visitors.
“This is going to be a great attraction for people to come to this area. The accommodation and commercial aspect of this development will bring employment to the area.”
Shadow Minister for Healthy Lifestyles and Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries acknowledged that the facility will be able to not only assist in the development of footballers in Sydney but of the whole state.
“Football NSW will be able to take kids from the country area as well. That's what is so exciting about this project, it's not just a local facility, it’s a state-wide facility.”
A number of modern facilities will be showcased at the proposed Riverstone West complex which includes:
A minimum of 9 purpose built quality football pitches, with the ability to expand to 15 fields in the future if necessary
A boutique stadium venue with a capacity of around 3,000 spectators, designed to showcase major Football NSW events
Indoor swimming pool
Multi-purpose indoor sporting centre consisting of two international sized Futsal courts.
Lecture Rooms
Physiotherapy and sports medicine centre
Gymnasium
Football NSW offices
Licensed club and function centre
Hotel accommodation
Private Football College
Aside from the commercial considerations aimed at securing the organisation’s financial future via ongoing revenue streams, Football NSW is creating a facility that is perfect to develop football, and its vast and abundant talent in NSW.
The 55th NSW State election will be held on the 26th March, 2011.
