I hear that they won't have the money to even make it to the 10th. looks like we will have to tear up gosford instead of watching football.

I thought that was all you did ?

Yeah I seem to remember Perez carving you up last season. Flores had nothing that game, could only watch in awe of his fellow Argentine :D

Yeah but Simon's been showing some flair and ball skills too this season. Apparently Arnie's been working with him one on one teaching him how to be a complete striker (obviously a former Socceroos striking legend himself).

I didn't know that.

Simon has improved out of sight in the last two seasons so I though someone had been working with him. I was probably one of his biggest critics in the past but I started to warm to him last year and he has won me over completely this season.

Go Arnie ! What a legend. Arnie for PM.

Best manager in the league.

Ange has done well - but he has had the benefit of bringing in some great talent from overseas with Broich , the hyphen and berisha.

Amini talks up Arnold influence

5 December 2011-SBS EXCLUSIVE

Mustafa Amini praised the role of Central Coast coach Graham Arnold in his successful off-season move to Bundesliga champion Borussia Dortmund.

Arnold unearthed Amini last season with the Mariners and the emerging star was loaned back to the A-League club after signing with Dortmund.

The 18-year-old has spent most of the season overcoming osteitis pubis but was among the Mariners' best players against Adelaide, scoring in his side's 4-0 win.

After the match he paid tribute to Arnold, saying the former Australia coach was influential in his move abroad.

"He's (Arnold) been a huge help with the move and everything," Amini said. "He’s been there offering advice and the way he’s got us playing is excellent right now.

“I’m trying not to think about it too much but the fact I’m going there has got me working extra hard to improve my game.

"It will be environment that will bring out the best in me.

“I’ve been working a lot on building up by body, improving my strength. I was taking pain killers to get through the World Cup but broke down when I got back with the groin problems.

"But I think thanks to the work I’ve done with the fitness conditioner Andrew Clark I am now in the best physical state of my life.”

Amini said with each win, Central Coast is gaining confidence it can avenge its Grand Final loss to Brisbane Roar last season.

“Definitely we can do as well and even better than last year,” he said. “There’s not a team we can’t beat in the competition.

“We have a tremendous team structure, there are no egos and we all fight for each other. We’re all equals and we all believe in each other.

“We showed in going to Sydney and winning 3-2 a couple of weeks back and we’re going on with it now.

“We‘re a team which can keep the ball, it‘s something we’ve worked on. We try and keep it on the ground and play our way through teams.”

I think ARNIE THE LEGEND is the perfect coach to take us to an ACL. He's had a whole qualifying campaign in Asia under Verbeek and has played in Asia himself. We've also got a lot of depth at the moment which we will definitely need when the games overlap with the A-League games.

It will be a test for the squad and Arnie. 12 games in 48 days in the leadup to the Grand Final including trips to China and Korea. The Mariners really need to get a good result first up in China and the first two home games. Assuming they make the Grand Final the trip to Korea in the week before may be a virtual second XI.

I don't quite think Arnie=LEGEND actually unearthed Mustafa Amini - it was the great man Laswrie McKinna who signed him for the Mariners (and just quietly, Mat Ryan and Bernie Ibini-Isei)but Arnie certainly gets the kudos for the way he has brought Amini through to the point where, last friday, his influence was Perez-like.

Can't wait to see ARNIE THE LEGEND in action this Saturday! Hoping my cricket game finishes early so I can get to the pre-game!

CBowden - do you think Hutch should remain with CCM after he retires in a "Heckle the Bogans in the derby" role?

He could be a Mascot of type for us , just to roll out and rev up the crowd whenever we play Sydney or the Jets. Perhaps we should the call the away team supporters bay the "Hutch's hutch" - just so that they hate it !

By the way ARNIE = LEGEND !

I think John Crawley with his Blacktown and Westfield High connection has a lot to do with it.
