+xThe meeting for the possible re-zoning around the Stadium was to be had tonight, 29 June. therefore, are the Mariners now able to create businesses in that Stadium precinct now? Or it could be the usual cloak & dagger method, then finding out the re-zoning didn't occur? I have a lobster on the latter. We just know how these things go. Looks like on Twitter they are saying mariners won’t get the stadium.

+x+xI don’t think central coast has many other major sport teams so have the mariners been getting a lot of media attention atm? It's building, and bandwagoners are coming back in their droves, one of me missus work mates never looked sideways at the mariners or football, took his kids because they asked to Wednesday's game, he's now invested in the team, wants membership off one game. It they continue they could be getting 12k again by end of year. Good to hear momentum is building for the Mariners. Their long suffering supporters deserve better than what was dished up in previous seasons. Staj (and to an extent Bozanic) have done an excellent job

+xHypothesis: All the years of running at the bare minimum cap spend has finally paid off for CCM. Many of the other clubs simple aren't accustomed to building a squad with such a low amount of money, however CCM have been doing it for years. If the can keep this momentum going all season and actually win a trophy or two, I can see them facing the problem of Stajcic being poached by a rival club. 100%, happened around 2009, and in 2014, it'll happen next year aswell if they go on with it, and we won't get a cent for any of them at the moment with the current lack of transfer laws that currently exist, not that we would anyway for stadj but reimbusment would be nice for gutting a great team.

Yeah I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. There's three differences between this CCM team and their teams in years gone by. The first is that their current bunch of youth players are actually half decent. The likes of Stensness, Nisbet, Kuol among others are much, much better than the young players they have had in recent seasons. In a way MC is somewhat lucky as it gives him an excuse to spend less. The second is the attitude of the players. This squad will fight for every ball, not give up, is hungry and has leaders which drive the team. The third is the style of play. In previous years, they've played attacking football and ended up copping a lot of goals, under Staj defence seems to be their first priority. I agree that they might have a hard time keeping Stajcic but I really hope they can.

+xA change to the naming and management rights to CC Stadium, a discussion at CC Council. Now that is interesting news out Gosford way. Don't hold your breath. They'll hold onto it and lose money, lose any hope of a 2023 WWC or even 2032 Brisbane Olympic base. Singo made money from it at lower prices to the hirers and crowds. The council lose money and gouge their hirers. CCM management rights would help the Council, the club and the ratepayers.

I suspect, and I may well be wrong but Matt Simon, who should be the next Socceroos forwards coach (no question), may double as Pauline Hanson. Those facial features don't lie.

and how perceptive is the neighbour Reno for a "guy of his age"?..... "You know why the Mariners won? They're very aggressive. If you lose the ball, somebody comes straight away. Before when they lost the ball, they'd have a cup of tea."

+x+xPrediction for them to do one worse this season, go from 11th to 12th, no additions are meh, lost almost all attacking players with the exception of Simon. Need a few forwards in ASAP or this season could be even more miserable then the past few. 2 Visa players have agreed terms apparently - just waiting on OS paperwork good to hear. We need as many competitive teams as possible.

+x+x+x+x+x+xGreat signing thu our junior ranks Coast local Matt Hatch signs scholarship with the Mariners @ccmarinersPublished: 2 hrs ago Emerging youth fullback Matt Hatch has signed a scholarship deal with the Mariners, with the born and bred Coast product set to get his A-League shot at 20 years old. Blessed with electric pace and with great passing, Hatch has spent the past two A-League pre-seasons working with the senior side but after a brilliant NPL2 campaign this season has been rewarded. Hatch came off the bench in the NPL2 final early in October, playing a key role in a more advanced position than normal as he struck twice in extra-time to help Nick Montgomery’s side to the Championship. The opportunity is a dream come true for Hatch, who began his football journey with the Woy Woy Roosters, before joining Kincumber and eventually the Central Coast FC representative program which would feed into the Mariners Academy. Now the former Asian Champions League ball boy will have his chance as part of Alen Stajcic’s squad for the A-League 2020/21 season. “It really is a dream come true for me, I used to go to all the games, I was a ball boy,” Hatch said. “I’ve always wanted to play for the Mariners, because they are my hometown team and it’s just an unreal feeling to be here now.” “I had a few cracks in pre-seasons, and last years was a real eye opener for me to think that I could actually have a chance at a contract.” “It showed me where I could be if I put my head down and worked hard so I used this past NYL and NPL season to really give it a crack and I’m pleased that I’m getting rewarded for all the hard work I’ve put in." MARINERS MEMBERSHIPS GO ON SALE AT 12PM MONDAY! Mariners A-League Head Coach Alen Stajcic welcomed Hatch aboard and said it was great to see a local talent coming through. “Hatchy is a local product, born here on the Coast and he’s come through our youth teams in the last few years,” Stajcic said. “We’re excited to have him onboard, and we know he has talent and some attributes in his arsenal that have been so effective for him at youth level.” “The task for him now is working hard to transfer those skills and adapt to the professional level to become an effective A-League footballer.” Is it true the best player at Mariners is not under contract, Ruiz-Diaz? If so, heads must roll, what dickheads. They did the same with Matt Millar, then got angry when fair negotiations between the Jerks and him eventuated. This seems scarily common practice for CCM. Last year I said Silvera was their biggest prospect, now with him gone it seems to clearly be Ruiz-Diaz and they're leaving him open to get poached again. If reports of bad attitude etc are true, this is a Lachie Wales scenario all over again I guess. Ruiz-Diaz is superior to Silvera, it might be a lack of man management skills or a need of a cup of cement to harden up by Mariners management. I will be extremely surprised if Ruiz-Diaz has a bigger career than Silvera. Then best you prepare yourself to be surprised Sunshine.....................................because Dylan Ruiz Diaz is a significantly better player than Sammy Silvera. DRD is overseas on trail... don't know who for but confirmed by our CEO last week in response to a fan question...
