This could (And lets face it, probably is) absolute rubbish, but the rumour doing the rounds is that Vince Grella could be joining Melbourne Heart as their Australian marquee.
As I mentioned it was posted on another forum, so it is only probably all just BS.
But who knows? He is a Melbourne boy, and there have been suggestions in the past that he may play for the Heart one day, along with Marco Bresciano. His career certainly has taken a hit since joining Blackburn, and logically maybe it is the right time to return home.
One thing going against this rumour I suppose, is the fact that he has said he doesn't have ambitions to return to Australia... but times and his career has changed since these comments. :-k

I know someone who is very close to his mother, there are two things I know.
If he comes back to Australia to play it will be a Melbourne club.
BUT
Its unlikely that he will come back to Australia as his wife is Italian (95% sure) and his kids were born there. They had an extremely tough time in England to the point the wife and kids moved out of there house in Blackburn after robbers broke in, I dont think they have gone back either. I think now he wants to find somewhere to stay so his kids can find some stability in there lives, probably Italy.

Yeah, I remember him saying he'll live in Italy for the rest of his life, which is why I was surprised he actually went to England.
I doubt this rumour, but then again people do make uncharacteristic decisions some times

Well his Mrs and kids have really struggled to adapt to England and I'm pretty sure the majority of the times he visits Melbourne hes by himself.

I'd heard the rumour he was going back to the Heart too. He isnt doing well at Blackburn - never really has. A move would make sense but agree that back to Italy is more than likely - not back here.

For the sake of young Australian footballers' legs, I hope this isn't true.

Having Vinnie living in Italy and hopefully staying involved in football in some capacity might be good for Australia and people at the FFA should be thinking about how they might tap into his presence there, if this is where he does end up.

Gah! Where's the copy and paste for lazy people? :P Quote:Blackburn midfielder Vince Grella ruled out for season Vince Grella has only played seven times for Rovers this season Blackburn midfielder Vince Grella will not play again this season after an operation on an Achilles injury.
The Australian, 31, has played seven times during the 2010-11 campaign, and only twice in the past five months.
Blackburn boss Steve Kean said: "It's been hard for Vinny because he's picked up niggly injuries and this has been quite a big operation on his Achilles."
Grella joined Blackburn in August 2008 and made 19 appearances in his first season, playing 17 times in 2009-10.
He started for Australia in their 2010 World Cup opener, a 4-0 loss to Germany, but injury prevented him from playing in his country's following games, a 1-1 draw with Ghana and a 2-1 victory over Serbia.
Grella played for Canberra and Carlton in Australia before moving in 1998 to Italy, the land of his parents' birth, where he played for Empoli, Parma and Torino.
Blackburn travel to London to face Arsenal in a 1730 BST kick-off on Saturday.
Rovers are currently 13th in the Premier League with 33 points, but sit only one point above Wolverhampton Wanderers in 18th, the final relegation spot.

It's possible he'll come back to the A-League, and more then likely if he does he'll sign for one of the Melbourne clubs. But the A-Legaue, like the EPL is quite physical, so i wouldn't be suprised if he ends up injured again for more then half the seaosn.
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!
