How do people see the future of the a-league?
I have a dream of one day seeing relegation/promotion and a much larger national competition.
With the FFA Cup coming in to the mix in the near future, support for smaller state league clubs can explode.
The way i would like it to work would be to bring back the NSL(called say B-league)but have conferences, eg, Queensland conference (QSL), NSW Conference (NSWPL), VIC Conference (VICPL), Western Conference (WAPD) etc and have it work so the top 2 from each conference goes into a finals series and the winner of the league gets promoted to the A-league. The wooden spoon of the A-League Goes into there respective State conference and we continue the next year. This gives more teams to support and more excitement etc for the trailing teams of the a-league and the top teams in each conference. More local derby's, In western sydney for instance we have Marconi Stallions, Sydney United and Bonnyrigg White Eagles all within close proximity.. and its not a long drive to the other NSWPL sides.
I would love this as the A-league for me is too wide spread and lacks passion.
Thats my view.
