Great summary Dejan. Good to see Dandy and Oakleigh make it back to back wins.

Our away game to Richmond this week could be a test, but I think we beat them bost times last year - and arguably our team is looking a lot stronger so far this year.

Also, great crowd at George Andrews for the Thunder game - over 2,500 people.

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article VPL Round Two Wrap?
SOUTH Melbourne recorded their first win of the Alanic Victorian Premier League season in a 10-goal thriller at Springvale White Eagles as 27 goals were struck in round two.

Have your say.

It seemed unbelievable that Heidelberg were behind in their game but getting the equaliser in the 96th minute is always going to feel like a bit of a rip off

Can one of you SMFC heads tell me why Jesse Krencivic has not or is not playing A-League? I have watched him for years and he is head and shoulders in class above most players and especially that backpacker Geoff Crap-away that played for Dandee Thunder then Melbourne Victory. Any ideas?

Good question Skinet. This is the first time that I've ever seen you making sense on this forum and the first time I've agreed with you. Fro what I've seen of Jesse in Singapore and 2011 he has been awesome. His turning is amazing and his mobility and agility for a player of his stature is awesome. For me he could easily play A league. I don't know why he isnt. I don't even think clubs have looked at him at any time or another. Although the reason may have been that he only just started playing really well in the vpl. Last season was his first standout season with the seasons before being just servicable seasons. I am really enjoying the look of him for smfc this season. We've been asking for a proper striker who can score for about 3 seasons now and now we finally have gotten one. He has now scored 3 goals in 2 games which is a really great start to the season. hsi pre season record was crazy as well.

Jess Krncevic only issue is his lack of consistency. Having seen him play a lot for Richmond he tends to start the season off well and then disappears for long stretches. Not sure why no one in the A-League is interested in him but wasn't he always more interested in trialling overseas.

Jesse is a great finisher, aboslutely lethal inside the box, 2 high quality goals on Friday one rounding the keeper and the second chipping him, definately worth a look at for A league.

Richmond in general traditionally get off to a flyer and then fall back to the pack, last year the exception, think its a matter of Jesse getting quality service week in week out, give him the chances and he will score goals a plenty.

I guess consistency could definately be a key reason for him not getting a HAL contract, as it would definately be a concern for a recruiting manager.

Many feel that they could/should just trial directly overseas, bypassing the HAL, but in all reality, the step up from SL to European pro leagues is a huge one to take. Its better to concentrate on a HAL contract first, then look elsewhere later, with some pro experience under their belt. I guess it all depends on whos giving the advise though:)

Jesse has improved out of sight since he last played for South around 6 years ago in our 1st season back in the VPL. He was only 17 or so at the time. He likes to get involved in the game, runs a lot, chases/harasses defences and has put away a few decent goals so far. If he has a good, consistent year at South then no doubt HAL clubs will have to take notice. Better than wasting money on o/s crap like Ricardihno etc. There's heaps of talent in the VPL and best of all it's cheap and easy.
Also the 2 young players we picked up from MH Taseski and Ibrahim look pretty good as well. Ibrahim especially made some really good runs and took the piss out of the Springvale defence a few times.

Someone told me in friday night that Springvale White Eagles own their complex outright in Keysborough and is worth around $6 million:shock:. Can anyone confirm this? Pitch out there was magnificent, makes such a difference to teams like South who go out and try to play decent football.

Yes they do own it but im not sure how much its worth.

The land is over 70,000m². It comprises of a the main pitch with a stand (i don't know the capacity), another 3 full size pitches and a few smaller pitches which can be used for junior games or warm up area and the toilet/change room/canteen block.

It also has the reception at the front (1500m²?) which had an indoor soccer court which was removed and the reception was then extended (correct me if im wrong).
