MIrabella didn't like Van Shit because he is on 700k & he realised he could get someone as good as Ange for half the price.

Another Dutch mango sucker sullying Australian Football. The Dutch methodology barrow pushers undoubtedly masturbate furiously to his breathtaking 4-3-3 with quality players such as Gerard Sibon " showing " the locals hows it's done.

no doubt gerald sibon was a quality player, people who critisized the way he played obviously havn't played the game at a decent level to appreciate his class

with JVS sitting on that amount of money, he has a lot to teach the players especially the younger ones because of his experience coaching Ajax youth teams as everyone knows the Ajax and PSV youth teams are the best in the world and many clubs send their up and coming youngsters over to learn their football (e.g. ronaldo, arjen robben, marco van basten, wesley sneijder just to name a few) Let's not forget he was assistant coach of the netherlands while also coaching Ajax senior squad as an interim coach for half a season

im sure his scouting trip to europe will be effective and we have already heard about his connection with Johan Cruyff who was one of the best players in the world
Additionally Jesper Olsen is in england, and being an ex manchester united player im sure he'd have some very worthwhile connections there

im expecting melbourne heart to be similar to victory in their a league introduction. Victory had a poor first season finishing second last on the ladder but then recruited good players and had a good pre-season which resulted in them winning the league in their 2nd season. Im not saying heart will definitely win the league next season but i believe we had a solid finish to our first season with some solid performances and many players found their feet. Like other teams we had our share of injuries and with a big pre-season and an opportunity to fix these injuries as well as adding some quality to the squad with the signings JVS will make, heart will be up there next year competing for the league

Good post, mate. I agree with all the points there.

700k for JVS is fine, I think. Who better to teach and install the dutch footballing philosophy than someone who was played in and coached in at the highest level. I can't see him being a Heart for very long, on that money anyway. When he leaves I do think we'll go for an Australian coach, but until then, I'm behind him. Lets hope he can pull some big signings out of the hat this off season.

So Melbourne Heart paid JVS $700k to finish eighth(out of eleven) in a season where you lost about $3 million and attracted an average attendance of 8,315(average without the derbies was 5,828) which was inflated by hosting two home derbies(next season you only get to host one)and you think that is value for money?

I hope the Heart do well, but seriously Kosmina would provide better value for money.

Cheap stats there Joffa. Heart started up in one of the most congested sporting zones in the world, during one of the most dire years since the HAL's inception and almost clinched a finals spot with a bunch of guys who only met each other (mostly) 7 months prior.

The value of JvS is yet to be proved, but I'm watching the way he brings the young guys through. If he can build a great team from decent young players, then MHFC have a great shot at being viable on the field and on the balance sheet.

Fair enough, I agree with you that the worth of JVS has yet to be proved. I for one hope he does prove he is value for money and I also hope the Heart succeed.
