Please excuse my ignorance but what ever happened to the power struggle at fnsw. There was a lot of talk about Kimon Taliodoros running for the presidency a while back but I have not heard any latest news. Can someone bring me up to date with the goings on?

Draft Terms of Reference for Review
08.03.11 10:03

One of the priorities of the interim board of Football NSW was to formulate the draft terms of reference for the review.
The purpose of the review is to conduct enquires and report on appropriate governance structures that will enhance the growth and development of the game in NSW.

The board of Football NSW has circulated the draft terms of reference to its members.

Football NSW has invited members to examine the different categories which have been identified as headings for the review.

The next step in the process after members have had an opportunity to examine the draft terms of reference is to be finalised and then issued to the members inviting submissions on these specific issues related to the identified categories.

A project coordinator has been identified and will facilitate the review process. Submissions will go to the project coordinator.

The review process will involve consultation with members.

Football NSW will also be engaged with the FFA in the process of the review.

Football NSW Review Update

The Board of Football NSW (FNSW) has appointed external consultants to assist with some key areas of the Review of football in NSW. The advisors appointed are Pacific Strategy Partners (PSP). Their work will focus on Part A of the previously announced terms of reference.

The Review process has commenced with 2 activities:

A workshop for the FNSW Board, to review the current governance arrangements and strategy, including the FNSW Mission, Vision and Values; and
An invitation seeking submissions from all interested parties, including Associations, clubs, players, volunteers and other State bodies.

Board Chair, Robert Sestan said “The Board has been meeting frequently to understand the issues facing FNSW and the expectations of our stakeholders. We appointed PSP to assist Football NSW with the Review. This is to ensure due care and consideration are given to issues which impact on strategy development, and to facilitate proper business judgments”.

The Review will be wide-ranging and will examine the administration, promotion, growth and development of football in NSW. The anticipated outputs will include:

An strategic plan for FNSW
Recommended changes to governance, including proposed changes to the FNSW constitution and By-Laws
Initiatives to improve stakeholder relations and communications
An analysis of the cost of football participation
A review of FNSW’s financial position
Analysis and assessment of Football NSW’s technical programs
The aims are to align all FNSW stakeholders around a common vision for the development of the game in NSW, and to build an organisation that can deliver this vision.

The Board is also focused on Part B of the Review, the major development planned at Riverstone, in Sydney’s North West.

A revised site proposal has been put forward by the Riverstone Land owner which is currently being considered by the Board and its commercial advisors accordingly. FNSW will keep its Members informed of any material developments.

Call for Submissions. FNSW has previously invited all interested parties to make submissions on any matters covered by the terms of reference A1 to A6, by 5pm 30th April 2011. All submissions should be sent to review@footballnsw.com.au, or by mail to:
