I've posted this on another tread, but this forum is now huge.
I think the current mods need a bit more help, even if they are doing a good job. It must be difficult to keep track of such a big forum.
I nominate these guys:
General Ashnak Arthur Gyfox
These guys are all pretty levelheaded and I've seen them enter many posts.
I know these guys are mods:
I'm No Freak Erebus Funky Munky Joffa Benjamin Stifler's Mum Site Admin
Who have I missed?

The requirement to be a mod is: Need to be online for 23.5 hours a day. Have NO social life what so ever They're at least two - pretty sure all 3 fall out of that category. ;)

I will nominate myself.
This is an Australian Football forum. How many of the current mods know or do anything about Australian Football? The only two on that list would be Benjamin and Joffa, and to a lesser extent Erebus.

Do you need to know how many goals Harper scored for Marconi in the 90s to be a mod here?
I didn't see it in the application form.

Seriously, its only the crap that goes on in extra time that keeps the mods busy, most shit that occurs in the other forums are usually born out of the shit you guys give each other in extra time.
So what you want is a shit load more moding to take place in a forum which is low on our moding priorities.
You don't need more mods, you need to grow up and behave like adults, even though most of you are kids.

Agree with this totally, watching the behaviour of some members over the past week has been quite disturbing, especially considering the age of these members. It's an online forum which we use to discuss football and all things related, not a zoo like it has been lately. Build a bridge and get the fuck over it, or go find another forum cause this crap isn't needed here.

Bingo. Last time I checked this was a football forum. Over the past two weeks it's looked more like Degrassi.

All for more mods who browse and lurk AF at least marginally more than the other threads. Although recently it has become a little more easier to bear. For every 1 silly post made in ET, there at least 2.23 sillier posts made in AF.
I've done the research...

I've done the research... Yeah sure, you've researched every comment ever made in both threads and passed judgement on what you believe is silly and come up with a statistic of 2.23/1#-o BTW: I guess is whatever your interpretation of silly is? Clearly you’re not here for the football because in ET it is rarely discussed, therefore you must find football related threads silly.

I want to see the equation, in chalk on a blackboard on how you came up with that statistic.
It could also be suggested that the AF:ET post ratio is around 5.7:1 so obviously there will be more silly posts in AF compared to ET, and only 2.23:1 is not a bad ratio if you take into account my aforementioned ratio of posts between the subforums.
And also, like StiflersMom said, just because you don't agree with it, doesn't mean its delete/ban worthy. There may be "silly" and uninformed posts in AF, at the very least its good for a chuckle every now and then

Davstar wrote:[quote=Decentric]I've posted this on another tread, but this forum is now huge.
Benjamin is one of the most level headed ive seen on the forum and he knows his shit too.

When I was a lad you had to wait for the modem to get a dial tone before it called your ISP in order to connect to the internet! I had a 28.8K modem. I was delighted when we upgraded to 56k and I could play Age of Empires over it with only 10 seconds of lag between clicking my mouse and seeing a unit move.

I went 50/50 into a 33.6k modem which cost like $190 from memory  My older brother set up our first internet connection through his Uni's ISP or something, it was kinda prepaid and depending on the hour of the day depended on how much it cost (obviously in the middle of the night it was a lot cheaper). I will never forget or miss that modem connecting sound.
This was all on a P100. Imagine how fast that internet experience was! MP3's didn't even exist back then I don't think (well at least not in the way they exist now) and having a hex speed CD-Rom was the shit!
