You would think that after handing out a punishment of -6 competition points, $8,000 and 4 home games behind closed doors the FFV would have some extremely good evidence of what occurred??
Wrong. [-x
The appeal last night went for close to 5 hours. We heard evidence from a number of people, however, the testimony on which the FFV initially based their punishment, the linesmen, provided two conflicting stories (one linesman was present at the hearing, the other was on the phone). It was an absolute farce.
Anyway, good news is that "as a gesture of goodwill" our next game against Oakleigh Cannons will be open to the public! We have been given seven days for our solicitor to submit a final brief with witness testimony etc to the tribunal, and then they will make a decision on the rest of the sanctions within a week of submitting the paperwork.
