Whoever counts the crowds for NSWPL.com.au needs a calculator. I watched the Olympic game on the weekend and not only were their supporters the most vocal of all (at least on par with United), but they also had a lot more people in the stands than the stated 400. And how good is Peter Triantis in defensive midfield...I know he's short but it's nonetheless shocking that no A-League club has picked him up yet.

Whats the deal with Alex Smith, his first 6 rounds he couldn't miss from a mile, now he's had a dry spell longer then a well-behaved Kim Duthie.

Everybody was surprised at first by Smith as unknown Premier league player, but now he is probably marked a bit more. BWE did an excellent job in the league game marking him out, but Smith got one against us in the Cup game only a week earlier.

I was pasted by your fellow supporters last week for saying those figures werent' reliable, and they referred me to a number of NSWPL.com.au reports where Olympic had big crowds.

Now you Olympic fans are saying the crowds are wrong?

You guys are unbelievable.

What happened to the thousands projected to turn out?

You better hope it doesn't rain every week as people want shelter.

And again someone starts hating without even bothering to read properly. Where did I state I was an Olympic supporter? The only team I support is an A-League team. I don't support any of the NSW teams. As an amateur scout, I go to any game that interests me. This season I've been everywhere but in Wollongong and crowd support was certainly the most impressive at Olympic and United, then Bonnyrigg, Rockdale and Parramatta. All the other places are pretty dead. Marconi crowds are a disgrace given their history.

709 official crowd over the speakers so il take the 709 to the 400 football nsw estimate

Great turnout considering it was about 12 degree with lots of rain before the game and thoughtout the game

709 easily in the top 5 in crowds so far in the Nsw Premier league

Our serb friend said there was about 350 at the Parramatta game
football nsw annouces 600 so who is right or wrong d

Loved the chant Olympic in the A lague gave some football nsw officials a weird look

Interesting that Melita play there players the same money win lose or draw
found that funny

Is this true
Looking at the club championship Melita need to win against the South Coast as
Bankstown plays Rockdale and both team will pick up points there

How bad are Rockdale s junions going

20 S 10TH OUT OF 12 TEAMS

18 S LAST 1 DRAW 9 LOSSES 0 WINS

16 S LAST 0 WINS 8 LOSSES 2 DRAWS
15S LAST 0 WINS 7 LOSSES 3 DRAWS
14 S MIDTABLE 8 POSITION FROM 14 TEAMS
13 S 10 POSITION FROM 14 POSITION

Why are they doing so bad
Bankstown isnt doing much better

What's the go with him at the moment. My understanding of his contract was that he was contracted to Sydney Olympic until the end of the 2011 NSWPL season, then he joined the Gold Coast United.

But According to this article from the A-Leagues website it looks like he flew up after Olympics last game and won't be playing for them anymore.

It happened last year to APIA when Gk Nash and Hiro were summoned by their A-League clubs, and told no more playing in the NSWPL.

Not fair on the NSWPL clubs at all.

yes thats gotta be it hey, football nsw are clearly wrong and love to halve actual crowds. oh please.

as for our youth teams, i acknowledge they have been underperforming, no two ways about it. there have been coaching changes mid season hopefully we see an improvement because player group wise, theyre must better than what their position on the table reflects, especially our 14 and 15's.

Which Club do you support? The crowd was about 700. It's shit, but not bad considering the weather conditions. It was the highest crowd of the Round, that's for sure. Peter Triantis had one of his better games. Realistically, Peter Triantis, Phil Makrys and Will Angel should all be in the A-league. As for the atmosphere, that was probably out best performance we have put in since our establishment. :d :d :d

Although it's a shame he's not scoring more goals, he works tirelessly to win the ball, set up opportunities, make fantastic passes. Basically, he's doing everything but score.

We got the highest crowd of the Round in that ridiculous weather. Although 700 is disappointing, i know in better weather we'll get a lot better crowds.

[quote=ralerasic][quote=bambinodelmare]Whoever counts the crowds for NSWPL.com.au needs a calculator.

True fact, which is a fantastic effort considering it's a non-ethnic club.

mate, this was never about my clubs crowds. you and your little sideshow on here came on boasting about superior support etc, hoe you guys always draw 1000+ spectators to games, your fantastic membership levels, and yet come the much heralded return to belmore, and you only muster up 400 spectators. and quit with this 700+, it was not that high.
dont back track now and say "you are capable of getting 1000+ crowds" because that is very different to what was previously posted.

top of the pops, first home game, the big homecoming and only 400 people. yep, olympic are well credentialled to be a participant in the B league, if and when it comes to fruition.

as for us, we had an away fixture although it got cancelled due to the weather.

triantis has been good for you guys, but hes not a-league quality. not yet anyway.

full credit to tskea for what hes achieved so far.

Champion, scroll through the pages of crap in the former thread. It may have been the other olympic fan, but it was definitely said.

putting that aside, im hoping for clear skies for the rest of the week. we have a tough battle against bankstown who will lift for this one. They were deserved winners against us when we played them earlier this season, but I'm hoping we will be celebrating this time. We should have a couple of boys back for this one.

i have no idea how many will turn up and i sincerely hope its a large crowd at belmore as well as everywhere else because that can only be for the good of the game. PL clubs survive on the smell of an oily rag and so any additional revenue is welcome.

will be interesting to see how blacktown play, theyre generally pretty physical. should be a good clash.

nice feature story of nswpl.com.au about our own georgi sperenza. hes been a shining light for us and hopefully he has a big game against bankstown.
