I can't see him as a marquee drawcard, but still a very good player. I'd welcome him back as a squad player in the A-League. The EPL was always a strange move for him and I agree that it was too fast for him. But I would guess he'd be happy to take a Serie B contract and maybe settle in Italy after football - his wife is Italian from memory.

I dont think Grella has been able to keep up with the EPL and thats where his injuries have come from, I mean in 4 seasons of serie A he played 119 games, then for Blackburn he only played 37 games over 3 years...Maybe he needs a less intense league.

Waaaaaaaay to injury prone, even more so than Kewell. At least Kewell plays the majority of a season, Grella plays like 2 games and is out for the rest of the season. Would still be good to see him playing in the HAL but I'd be pretty concerned over his fitness, but hey, if he took enough time to fully recover then the lower intensity of the HAL would probs be good for him.

He's just as fragile and injury prone as Kewell, and while he wouldn't be the drawcard Kewell will, he'd still be a decent name to have home. He's 31, so he might have 1 season left in Europe in him, before he calls it quits or comes home. Although should he go to Italy, I can only see a Seria B team taking him.

One of the few times I have found myself to agree with you, Heineken.

Pffft wouldn't want him at Victory.

He'd be exactly the same as Jacob Burns if he came here and he would command way too much of a wage to and he wouldn't bring in any crowds.

Italian sides can have him.

Blackburn Rovers are seeking to offload Australia midfielder Vince Grella this summer.

Rovers boss Steve Kean is eager to find a buyer for Grella, whose time in England has been blighted by injury.

A return to Italy has been mooted, where the likes of Cagliari and Siena have been mentioned as potential destinations.

However, Aussie clubs are also being contacted about Grella's availability.

A return home to Melbourne could be on for Grella, where both Melbourne Victory and Melbourne Heart are yet to fill their marquee player slot for the new season.

Champions Brisbane Roar are also following developments, where coach Ang Postecoglou is a big fan of the combative midfielder.
