They do come up sometimes mk, it's an error in how your page is loading, which is a problem on your end of the line, not mr Web Guy's...it's probably when you're downloading something at the same time. So if you lay off the porn for 5 minutes, it will load fine...

What a revelation this thread has become...all this useless information:lol: Quote:So what. IE has it now so why would you bother DLing a new one when its already got what you want now? It's more the fact that firefox is jsut superior and IE is shit annoying and rather slow.

Quote:Also, if you use your middle mouse button on the tab itself, it closes Yeah I knew that one. My dad only realised a couple months back that the mouse wheel is also a button, and that there are 2 extra buttons where the thumb rests

Also, if you use your middle mouse button on the tab itself, it closes. Meaning you don't have to click the little red x.
edit: middle mouse button on any link (bookmark, bookmark toolbar, any url link on a website) opens a new tab. Just to clarify.

You missed the point completely. FF has had that since the beginning. IE knew they were falling behind and added it in. FF is like a 5MB download. IE is like 15MB and it suggests that you turn off your anti-virus software to install, connects to MS, and then asks you to reset your computer? WTF?
FF takes 30 seconds to install (if that) and is vastly superior. I have IE7 here at work but only use it when I absolutely have to.
And IE shits me when it thinks it has to tell me "you have just opened a new tab, with a new tab you can do this and that and the other thing" ( there is actually an option to never see that again...thank you M$)

I have tabs though. You can make a new tab in the current thing without losing the page youve got on now and only having one application open on the taskbar. So you can have X amount of pages open at once and you just select the tab you want inside the IE app, and you can switch tabs in half a second, they all sit next to each other just above the actual page. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/ie7/tour/tabs/

Well, with IE and Firefox, when you click on the links in the status bar (just above the tabs) the page opens in the current tab - which I hate, and I have to right click and select open in new tab. With crazy browser it automatically opens in a new tab. Also, with Crazy Browser you can either Tabulate pages or cascade them as windows WITHIN the browser - This helps when im doing assignments as I usually have up to 6 pages open at once across my three screens. :D

I hate IE with a passion, and hate the Vista Windows Explorer even more >.< Although I do like that the folders/explore function is standard.
I just haven't been bothered to download another browser till last night. I usually use CrazyBrowser, but since my Uni uses Firefox, i use that at home too.
And I agree with mk about you guys being cyber nerds.

Well that serves you all right for using IE....
It looks like it's a browser rendering issue (I'm using it right now as I speak). It's probably fixable, but right now I don't have the time to look into it. If I manage to find some time, I'll try to squeeze it in, but don't hold your breath.

Erebus wrote:What do you mean scroll down? If I type a large reply in quick reply, the window scrolls down. Ive been using IE 7.0 (Im on Vista) for the last few weeks; when you type in the quick reply window, once you reach the bottom of the visible portion of the text box (~7 lines) the box doesn't scroll down. You can still type but you can't see what's being typed. Dunno about other versions of IE, but on Firefox and CrazyBrowser, the box does scroll down.
