See their latest FB post about it and the responses they are getting. Public relations over-drive and I'm not sure the person managing the FB page is managing his responses too well. I know it can be 'hard to defend' but saying 'are you sure?' just fans the flames essentially. Kind of failing damage control 101, especially when some of these criticisms are receiving an ever increasing amount of 'Likes'. The $10k for 10k is in-danger of imploding because of this kind of 'crux' of an issue - even if some of you here may accuse them of being 'tight arses' or 'never pleased'! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151788582708536&set=a.445213113535.218357.78390538535&type=1&theaterIn this day and age, the internet age, which ironically the FB page is reflective and apart of, fans CAN and WILL 'research' and they are readily posting how relatively expensive Roar's packs are compared to SFC etc... Maybe this can be a lesson for next season, and do kind of like Jets and re-launch a new pack, subsidised 'a lil' greater (To price-competitive levels with rest of A-League and the Broncos) ALONG WITH a 'big drive' and member goal! Two seem to go hand-in-hand as we've seen at the Jets! Edit: Growing storm with that update. That 'Too Expensive' message getting more likes - and is THE 'Top Comment' in response to that 'Mattys Back are you?' update! Even some fans who HAVE renewed are slightly disappointed. Liek this comment from a Roar fan, which is received a growing number of 'Likes': Quote:Brisbane Roar FC: Sure about that? Adults start at $265 for 13 games, plus every kid in every seat is just $50. Like · 3 · 3 hours ago Zachary King: Kids is a bargain at $50, great for families. Couldn't believe our club was the most expensive and had a look around and it's actually true. Sydney starts at $215, Victory $235, Heart $225, Mariners $195, Jets $175, Adelaide $230, Wellington $169, WSW $200, Perth TBA. And the membership renewal price ended much earlier in Brisbane than other clubs. I'm already renewed but it's a bit disappointing The 'Too Expensive' lady, said she pays $185 for her Broncos membership. While I know Roar can't go THAT cheap, surely the Bakries could subsidise it down to the levels Sydney or Heart are at? Especially as they have a big cavernous stadium to fill and that's clearly/partly why SFC's are priced lower and gaining traction now, over the past couple seasons. IF Roar ARE serious, they need to fundamentally address this. As too that 'too short' renewal period one person mentioned. They can never expect to even get 5k members with all these hurdles and the 'bad PR' resulting makes the 'downward spin cycle' even worse! This FB commentator made the most salient observation yet: Quote:We pay our Sales Team the most of all the departments... Just saying... Edited by GloryPerth: 11/8/2013 09:37:58 PM

Well I guess the only positive is that the haven't been increasing prices we all saw what happened when they did that.
Anyway onto our squad.
Yuji Takahashi out : I guess you could say Donachie stood up as that 3rd CB. Matthew Jurman out: Jade North. Erik Paartalu out: I guess you could say Brattan is his replacement. Rocky Visconte: Julius Davies Ben Halloran: Dimitri Petratos Massimo Murdocca: Matt McKay Mitch Nichols: Liam Miller Steven Lustica: Diogo Ferreira Stefan Nijland: Do Dong: Nick Fitzgerald
I think we've done quite a good job with our ins and outs, just need to add a couple more players.

Edited by Roar_Brisbane: 11/8/2013 10:36:34 PM I feel sorry for Donachie, after last season he would be starting at any other a league club, just a shame he has to compete with 2 Socceroos at Brisbane.

Still feel we need a back up striker, I know Petratos can play there but I just think we need a specialist 9 that plays in that position all the time to really just push Bes and keep competition for spots strong. Really interested to see how Davies progresses this year though, seen a few people writing him off already but it's hard to believe he is still only 18. Enormously excited for the coming season though

Antonio Murray has been trialling for 6 weeks, and has 28? goals in the NPL. I know Mulvey is interested in him, however a lot depends on the Henrique situation. If his citizenship goes through, with two foreign spots open, Murray will be signed.

Particularly with Thurtell out injured, I doubt we could get a young Aussie from OS to return not with Bes here. Murray will probably be our best bet, would be pretty cheap as well.

Interesting to hear how Mulvey was unhappy with our 11-0 win, funnily enough I wasn't either but thought I must of been stupid because of the result, our Defence was caught napping too much imo. Wolves will be interesting as they won't be as pathetic as strikers. I'm hoping to see much faster movement tomorrow and more interchanging of places. I also hope franjic is playing.

How do you guys feel about your '$10k for 10k members' membership drive - The 10k target and the way it's going?
And about the critical discussion that I brought up, which has recently occurred on the club's Official FB page?

And about the critical discussion that I brought up, which has recently occurred on the club's Official FB page? People haven't really taken to it i think we only have about 3000 odd at the moment. As for price, it comes down to $20 a game which I don't think is too bad when you are at a world class venue such as Suncorp. That being said maybe some subsidies could be made in the future by the Bakries to make it more affordable and get more people in.

Membership prices are a big issue that needs to be looked at.

And about the critical discussion that I brought up, which has recently occurred on the club's Official FB page? I always felt it was an overly ambitious campaign from the club. I haven't seen any advertising about it anywhere in the city or anything like that. Had I not been a fan of the club and following them on twitter, I wouldn't have known about it at all. With Matty back, we really need to be pushing our marketing campaign more. Knowing the roar staff, weve always been slack with our marketing campaigns, and quite frankly, there seems to be a bad feeling of the way the staff and club view itself. Unfortunately there seems to be a feeling of, the staff feeling that the fans owe them and that they can continue to use the cheapest option and hope the best reward. Club culture does seem to have taken a turn for the not so good.

Like i said, its just my feeling, not all staff would feel this way, buts its just the feeling that comes across from my interactions with certain staff members.

Are we getting a new strip this season or not , I want to order a McKay shirt but wont if we don't change Strips . If the club wanted to make more money and sell more merch they should update it yearly IMO

Not a bad game, Lots of tough challenges flying in from both sides, Berisha leading the way of course. Roar really controlled it and although execution wasn't 100% we still put together some nice passes and player movement. Yeboah looked hungry and quick, will be a great impact player of the bench this year. Petratos and Yeboah worked well together on the Right. Overall solid hit out.

I was super impressed with Yeboah's runs down the right. Wolves played a very well structured defensive game and it was hard to break them down. Apart from the goal (couldn't really see what happened there) we limited them in the 2nd half quite well. I guess we just need to work on that final ball. All in all it was a good fast paced game and I snagged a pic with Berisha and Miller. You're next Broich!

For me it was a really frustrating game. Corey Brown really disappointed me on the left as he was caught out time and time again from Wolves wingers sneaking behind him, Stefanutto saved his ass on numerous occasions. Also the final ball when the players get to the by-line I don't know why they just didn't hit flat across the face, it works for us all the time! I may put it down to these players are new to the system and the mixture of different players may have disrupted the team, but I guess this is what preseason is all about. I do have to say Murray does look pretty handy as a back up for Bes he has good skill and nice awareness, although he didn't have many shots on goal.
Overall a great goal from wolves and a beautiful finish from Berisha.

Yea tough matches is what we need at this stage of the pre-season. Don't want to give out flogging after flogging and have the boys go into the season too cocky.

I cant quite remember the Roar squads from the earlier pre season games but can anyone tell me if DOE has featured in any, if he hasn't from the top of my head he would be the only one in the squad minus Socceroos who hasn't had game time.
