He will be used later in the season as the game changer. 60-70 minute will come on to create something and improve the transition from defense into attack with his passing skill and vision. But to unfit to push any of the current midfield out. Be interesting how the new Spanish bloke goes and if he is able to push out lustica.
Also isn't lustica a left footed player, i remember someone suggesting an imbalance in the midfield because this new spanish bloke is also left footed.

On Lustica, he's gone under the radar IMO. Probably playing the best in his career at the moment. Looks fit, has speed and moves into positions very well. Can shoot and score better than Matty can. Hard to break up that good interchange of play he contributes to. That Spaniard better be a lot better than Lustica otherwise he'll be our first dud of the season.

Well Aloisi has a 2 year succession plan, so i would think Lustica is Matty's understudy. Brisbane will always need a mckay type box to box player in our style.

I was one of them and it felt weird because not many around me got up but at least i didn't get told to sit down, which the area is known to have a few grumpy fans around. I think you can put that down to the new capo as well. He's really loud and before he commenced the chant he really encouraged the other bays to get up. What did you think of the den in general?

Hard times make people more passionate, especially when you have a winning team with backroom dramas. I think everyone is getting behind the players, hence the support at the start. I think as you said the capo actually making sure everyone around them was getting up. I also thought ever since the WSW rocked up the Den has uped its game, they do there thing for the full 90 now. Would be nice to come up with a few original chants now, something to make it that is a roar chant that no other a league side does, although in general in world football everyone pretty much sing to the same tune. I think the who are we is much easier to the crowd involved, I am still wondering if we should go for entrance song though. There are plenty very popular brisbane base bands we can chose from.

We now have 5,994 Members, another big jump which is great and i dare say before our next home match it could get well close to 8k with the lite memberships out as well. Another win on the weekend will surely help it along the way. Edited by MrBrisbane: 20/10/2015 04:15:13 PM

Edited by MrBrisbane: 20/10/2015 04:22:59 PM There is a "Roar only song" that they sing twice a game and lasts for about three minutes, I don't know what it's called but it sounds great even though it's full of swear words apparently (you can't actually make them out when they're singing). At Robina last year I even stood with them but couldn't work out what they were actually singing but it's got s really good rhthym. Anyone know the name of it??

Im not to happy with Broich playing the full 90 in both games. At his age and coming off a preseason of injuries, I'd like to see his workload managed a little better.
I have complete faith in Clut to come on for Broich and take over the play making duties for the last 20 minutes in a match. Infact I think he offers more in the last 20 minutes then a tired and battered Broich does.

But do agree, it would have been better to say take him off rather than lustica on sunday, just to conserve him.

I would have to agree with you both regarding Broich and Lustica Luke Devere and Henrique were crucified by Frans last season and are still paying the price. Muscat has no problems subbing Finkler and kalfalah late in games, managing their workload very well. Carusca is another that is often spared by Adelaide late in games. You will find that after 75 mins Brisbane did struggle, conceded a goal and had very little possession. This was all after Lustica's substitution. Petratos does not have the engine or quality to play a similar role to Lustica. Hopefully broich can stay injury free and his game time managed a bit better.

Fair point about Broich. I was wondering how unfortunate for Lustica was to be taken off but in thinking you're about Broich should have been the one. It could be that Broich is insisting he stays on and maybe he has the measure of the coaches or they see him too valuable and influential? I also recall during the Ange era him staying on when probably better to have taken a rest towards the end of the game.

Just checked the fixtures. We play WSW and SFC twice away from home. That means our best drawcards are only once at Suncorp as is Victory. MV games are bunched up within a month of each other towards the end of the season. Weird schedule :?

Weird schedule :? That's true but if you look at the attendances for the "big 3" last season they were poor (allowing for the victory game in midweek along with a Wanderers game) so average crowds have more to do with how we are playing than who, good news is if we keep playing attractive football we should smash last seasons average

This is why winning the league means nothing. How can it be fair the roar doesn't play MV at all until they start their ACL run. Or we finished playing the nix (im pretty sure it is them) before we play MV. It is a broken schedule.

I agree - winning the Plate is nice but you can hardly claim to be the best because if the manipulated draw and the unfair home and away schedule ... the Finals series fixes all that. I'm less keen on finals football if/when we get to a straight home and away Comp bug for now it's fair considering the odd draw that we get

First game against Sydney was only 12k while the second at Christmas was nearly 16k, my point is our average attendance the year before last was nearly 15k with the same fixtures we have this year so they're not that detrimental if we play good football
