We had structure , we had determination and grit, we did not have any superstars .....but we do appear to have a "team".
Wasn't scintillating football ....but it was oh so satisfying after last seasons debacle.

Akbari surprised me as the holding mid. Did very well and far stronger defensively than I thought with some good passing going forward.

Super happy about the clean sheet and looked pretty hard to break down.

Agree. SFC haven’t got Kosta or ALF into the game yet but they will as we tire. We will need a second to win this I suspect 

We look a lot better than we did at any stage last year, everyone seems to be broadly on the same page (as much as you can be with a basically whole new team). Against a settled team like Sydney with some young players in key positions as well it is pretty impressive. One game doesn’t make a season but I am very very quietly confident for the coming season

Yes confused why we haven't conceded yet. That's not the roar way.

I'm content with it. Still pre season rusty play with passes going astray or to the opposition. But moving the ball around in possession, with a good string of possession to get the goal.

Caught out a few times on the counter after a shit pass but manage to scramble to stop the chance. SFC hasn't really had period of long pressure.

Came in midway through the half (thanks rain 👍) and watching on My Football there’s commentary 

(commentator seems impressed we haven’t conceded 71 goals yet though).

Was walking with a leg brace last I saw him at the pre-season games.

He did a silly tackle in game 1 and paid a heavy price.

Few presumably starting players not in the squad. Two scholarship players starting. Very interesting. 

Tonight will be a good test, looking forward to it. All well and good getting minutes on the legs in friendlies against local clubs, however nothing is more vital in pre season then decent a-league opposition.

There’s no hiding away from the fact this is a big game for us. Will miss the first half training sadly, hope we’re 2 up by the time I get home 😬

I’d say up by a couple of thousand. Looks like renewals are stronger than last year
