I never saw the need for us to have two supporter groups. Never understood what RCC stood for and what their aim was, but i guess they now need to co-exist

I think its good to have a supporter group at both ends, makes it more atmospheric.

Though I've had a few twats from the RCC flip me off and try to act tough before, the guy was like 16 so I guess I can see why people don't like them.

Might piss off about the 10 blokes who are in it, but tough shit, they knew when they took up residency down their that they had to adhere to strict guidlines and they did that for the first year which was great, but last year for whatever reason they started to act like dicks and some of their banners where in terrible taste so tough shit!

Its all happening! Tough situation for the club but I'm pretty sure FFA would have had a hand in it. As I've said on facebook, the excuses outlined arent very convincing but it was always going to come. Half the blokes in the group have flare pics as their profile pictures on facebook and quite a few of them have been pretty antagonistic I think. Sucks that we can't have similar ideals about active support as some European nations but we are a nanny country after all!! Will be interesting to see what the kids do now. I'm all for them coming back into 331 or 333 and get our home end pumping the way it should but I have the feeling a lot of them are going to be to stubborn to put their feelings aside and get back to supporting the team!

See that cop-out excuse is half the problem! As Mark Bosnich said on Fox Sports the other week, european leagues now days DON'T have flares! When was the last time you saw a flare ripped at an EPL game? DOESN'T HAPPEN!

These fuckheads who think flares and chants involving the c-bomb and calling people peadophiles are "acceptable active support" are living in a fantasy land! European leagues cut this shit out 10+ years ago! But because their Daddy's used to do it in the mother country 40 years ago they think it must still happen and therefore its right and the FFA and Australia are "nanny state", its all just fantasy bullshit and is the reason why you don't have your own little private "crew" anymore.

Got what they deserved! This is Australia year 2012, not Croatia year 1940!

Just to clarify, I'm not part of RCC. To say European games dont have flares though is a bit dense. I wouldnt classify EPL as all of Europe. Many European clubs facilitate pyro displays.

bottom line, they were officially approved by BR provided they followed the rules, they didn't follow the rules!

How can they complain?

Not like this has come out of the blue, its been brewing for over a year now, but they couldn't take the hint so too fucken bad, tell your story walking!

Sunderland fans lit a flare at Goodison Park (Everton)in the FA Cup, March this year. Arsenal were singing "you're a c*nt, Robin" to the tune of "on the piss, m'lord" at Anfield in full volume for hundreds of thousands of fans on live TV just last week. That's just two examples off the top of my head. Yes, it happens in top flight English football and European matches.

The argument will go "we have to appeal to families, it's not Europe!", but at what expense? Should football sell its soul for financial gain?

I should re-phrase, it may happen, but its not ACCEPTABLE.

The flare rippers will tell you that its tolerated and accepted overseas, but its not and hasn't been for some time. Yes that doesn't mean it NEVER happens, but just because people overseas do things at football games that are illegal doesn't mean we should do things in Australia that are illegal! thats stupid logic right there.

As for the argument your raising about families, fact is the Milton Road end of the ground has ALWAYS been set aside for families! The RCC knew this when they took up residence there and agreed to follow the rules set down to them by BR management as a result.

THEY DIDN'T FOLLOW THE RULES MATE! They where given plenty of opportunity to turn their act around, and they didn't do it!

They went down there because they claimed they wanted to demonstrate a "higher standard of active support" then what the den offers, but in the end they were worse mate!

I'm sorry i'm repeating myself so often here, but its crucial, when they were established with the full consent of BR management, they were given VERY strict guidlines to follow because they would be sitting near families, they were told that they would be watched closely, and they were told that if they didn't follow the rules they would be kicked out. Those are the facts, they didn't play the game, so thats it! ta ta!

The RCC might be shit teenie, can't watch the game cos I'm flying a flag, support but at least they aren't the swimming carnival that is the Den. Football fans have the right to set up shop and sing for their club anywhere, they have the away end at that side too and they're louder, drunker and rowdier than anyone in the ground!

It's not tolerated in England you're right. But I can assure you that the club made a decision to kick the RCC before the pre-season flares. As far as I can tell, most flares during the season come from the Den! The justification is just a piss-poor excuse to amalgamate the support into a far more fashionable 'product'.

'Active support', what a fucking horrible phrase.

Sorry, but you clearly don't know what your talking about. Sounds like you've been talking to a RCC member who's told you all his bullshit, but I assure you there is another side to it and the rest of the Roar fans have increasingly lost patience with these guys for some time now.

And the flares weren't just in the pre-season, they ripped them during a-league games last season too, so did the Den, and I was equally critical of them, but they at least weren't down sitting with families under the false pretence of "being different and a higher standard"

Also since when has being the most drunk and rowdy been a measure of success?

The Den can be a pain in the ass, they go quiet when we're loosing as an example, but at least they (mostly) follow the rules and don't roll out banners of someone doing lines for the Courier Mail to take photo's of and splash around making our game look bad!

Talk about a personal tirade, jesus fuck.

Too much shit to even bother correcting, not that it would make a difference because your mind is clearly made up.

Who the fuck said anything about ultras? Yes, European support is what we want to replicate, but no one is running around shanking people after games. No banners have the word 'ultras' or 'acab' on them. And for the record, flares are ripped every week in European leagues, but I guess your view of European football doesn't extend past the EPL. No wonder you have the wrong idea.

cant they go in one of the bays near the den, like what the SCC used to do. be separate to the den, still have their own identity and culture.
personally i think the RCC had more atmosphere and creativity than the entire den.
its shit that the FFA did this.

I bet Del Piero wouldn’t be too concerned with any flares being ripped. In fact, it would make him feel right at home amongst the fans of his beloved Juventus. In this country, supporters just have to make do with those inflatable clap sticks and player face masks. Boo........

If the plastic franchise method isn't working, lets make it even more plastic.

This has the FFA written all over it.

"We are Football" - HA , as long as you sit down, shut up and buy merchandise for the wife and 2.4

I doubt the Bakries give a shit unless it's a plan to reduce security costs.

The RCC may not be everyones cup of tea but wouldn't blame them if they become another set of fans who turn their back.

If they're breaking the law arrest them, otherwise piss off and leave them alone.

Actually if iirc they met with the RCC to try to fix the situation for the good of all supporters, pretty sure they had the option of remaining there if they cut back on certain extremes.

They then ripped those flares in preseason in protest to the outcome of the meeting.

I enjoyed most of what the RCC were doing (especially the GCU banners) and I think it is awesome to have more than one supporter group and in different locations.

I don't even agree with the club trying to make that end a family zone, but that is their decision and rowdy supporters and families just don't mix.

There were just too many complaints about the RCC for the club to ignore and tbh they have been pushing the club to the edge for a while now.

I mean come on, a banner of someone snorting coke and 'BRFC my addiction' on it in a family friendly zone?

I hope they work something out though and continue their support for our team.

We should shut the A-League after 3 years tops. It's just not going anywhere except reverse.

In a resort somewhere

Actually if iirc they met with the RCC to try to fix the situation for the good of all supporters, pretty sure they had the option of remaining there if they cut back on certain extremes.

They then ripped those flares in preseason in protest to the outcome of the meeting.

I enjoyed most of what the RCC were doing (especially the GCU banners) and I think it is awesome to have more than one supporter group and in different locations.

+1

This is mostly what I was trying to say, though T3X8 has done a much better job of articulating the argument then I did...

Bottom line, the RCC has been given P-L-E-N-T-Y of opportunites to play the game and maintain their "official" status with the club, at the end of the day the BR admin were left with no choice, so I repeat, tough shit!

Basically the RCC chose to reject 80% of something and now have 100% of nothing! well played lads....
