Was down at Logan training this morning. Eric training pretty much as normal, has some bruising “down to the bone” but no tissue damage and likely to start Sunday
Mauk doing light training, hasn’t yet passed a concussion test it seems so definitely wouldn’t be playing Sunday suspended or not.
Didn’t see Holman at all.

Holman gawn in January I recon.
Brattan back to Roar? A definite possibility and it would seem most fans would be happy about that although there’s still some resentyout there over how we left.

Technically we’re full squad wise.
23 players with Bautheac and Taggart occupying the marquee slots although Tagz could be brought under the cap again.
I recon they can free two slots up though, most likely by retiring Holman and possibly by paying off another player - a cheap option like Brady or maybe even a DeVere.
We need a Midfielder to replace Holman and I wouldn’t say no to Forniroli although if those Sydney wage reports are accurate he’s out of our league.

I'd be letting couple go and signing a class centre back if Devere is a no go. Then would it be Fornaroli or Brattan ? That's a tuff one ?

Maybe they should find a way sort the problems out with Devere and take both Luke and Fornarolli. How many decent centre backs do the Roar release (Jurman, Donks)

Fornaroli won't be coming to us.
I've heard rumours of him going to WSW and them selling Riera to Spain.
We have Taggart and DWH. Why would we sign Fornaroli?

If we sign Brattan and Berisha we could have a “we’re getting the gang back together” round ... wonder if Fox will stump up some money??

I would be ok with that as long as it included Broich coming back as well. god i miss him. Even down to the way he would talk to media. Can he please be our coach and saviour.

Broich epitomised everything that was great about the Roar. A great footballer with good character, entertaining and engaging. It would be great to bring him back in some capacity.

Maybe when he finishes up his badges he can replace Ross as assistant with a view to being manager? Or put him in charge of the 20's.

I think the only thing saving JA is they don’t know how to replace him without getting more of the same. Kinda better the devil you know I guess.
Broich doesn’t appear to be in any hurry to get his A either so most likely not happening either, certainly not anytime soon.

It’s depressing to think we will have yet another poor season. A big and successful club like Brisbane is expected to produce more. After all theses years at the helm, how much more time and evidence does the board need to realise that JA needs to be moved on. Otherwise I can be left with the conclusion that the board and owner is happy to just plod along in mediocrity (at best) mode. This is not the club I want.

Good to hear Taggart is ok to play. Hope he goes well the next few weeks. Likewise Eric - AU were determined to stop him playing last week by any measure.
Full trophy cabinet (but yours looks a bit empty) ! Reigning BACK2BACK 442 A League and World Cup (Mens and Womens) Tipping Champion - so yeap, I do know best !

Yeah, both Adelaide and City the week before singled Eric our for treatment. He’s a tough little bugger but I’d be surprised if he stays in the HAL next season

He’s a tough little bugger but I’d be surprised if he stays in the HAL next season It is hard to show your talent when you are getting your shins smashed every week. This is an area where the refs in Australia really need to crack down for the good of the game. Good players (number 10s in particular) always get hacked at too much. AU were particularly rough across the entire pitch. I would like to see a better replay of the Mauk red card. From what I saw Goodwin should have a red too but the angle was poor.

Not heard anything but he’s clearly getting fed up with being hacked from behind based on his French language tweets ..

It's disappointing the way good players a getting kicked out of the game. I still remember the picture of Broich's ankle after he had the shit kicked out of him. The refs need to protect playmakers across the whole league.

When players constantly take on other players as Eric does you can expect a greater number of fouls and injuries.

@paulc
That’s true. But the main complaint is the fouls from behind. There’s no excuse for those, against City he was targeted from behind after 5 minutes.
