+xDaggers scored a brace against South Korea. Haven't seen the goals, so can't comment on the quality, but it's a shame he can't repeat that form for the club. Good on him, I hope he brings the form back to the club. i would classify his first as a tap in really, it was good lead up down the right, poor defending not to clear the ball (it went through a defenders legs from reasonable distance) giving daggs a chance to tap in as he had a jump on his defender. it was a good run by daggs (a very jmac type run). the second was a good finish from a tight angle by daggs but the run that he made is not typically a rotation you see the roar play(and will likely not be any use in the way the roar play). it was a very Granold rotation with the daggs making an inside-out run. I really dont like that sort of rotation, as we saw with the socceroos in the asian cup, it typically ends with one of your attacking central players receiving the ball in wide areas facing away from goal with their defender still to beat, and gives the rest of the defence time to get back into position. it worked well in this play because of poor defending again and a perfect ball, if the defender pushes him a little wider then the move is killed, if the ball is slightly off it kills the move, it is low percentage play. IT will be a confidence boost for daggs though so hopefully he can come back on a high and work in combination with DWH

Not an easy goal by any means .Very well taken and at speed . I was surprised by these goals too . I also hope he goes on with it when he returns . For his own sake if nothing else .

Game day ...29 March .....we were supposed to have a Coach announcement by Months end .......waiting ...waiting ....Meanwhile Bautheac looks like he wants to know who it is now so he can make some family decisions on where he goes next .....I want to know because I am sick of waiting for this mythical coach that has been subject to this meticulous 4 month screening process.....wonder who we will end up with ....Darren Davies ?

Bautheac has taken a million dollars plus out of the club and been part of two of the worst sides we have ever had ... he can f**k right off as far as I’m concerned.

Wow Waz that's a bit strong, he has been some of our very few bright moments over the last 2 seasons. Fair enough the teams been ordinary but Bautheac has at least given a good effort generally in most games, more than I might say for most. yes he's been frustrated but who wouldn't be. You're and I are friggin frustrated so what would you expect from a player of his obvious ability. I do not blame Eric for any of this clubs pridicament.

Eric had the embarrassment of the world watching as numbers fell off the back of his shirt, deserves the money.

It’s intriguing to consider that these guys actually train for hours and hours every week ... and yet that’s the best they can produce after 20 rounds. I like DD, but he should seriously think about another career.

Huge sigh, but yes. That’s just crap after 20 rounds.
Harsh on Babalj maybe but he’s clearly not fit, could we not look at Charlie or an NYL players instead?
And on a side note .......
What the #*^$ is this half time entertainment ?!?!?!?

Babalj is just unfit. Probably scared of injury as well. God help us if we sign him next year though.

We are outstandingly poor. Kristensen and Lopez in the same midfield ..???? Where is the facepalm emoji when you need it ?
The only player I thought played creditably was Leck. At least he looked reasonably solid in a position he does not normally play (he did make errors...but hey.. he is young and out of position ) Dump everyone else on the park tonight....even Young was ordinary ...that last goal ....where was he going ? His backs should be there ...not him

Is this what a once proud club has become? Perhaps that koala can slot in at DM? Where is the Suncorp Sniper when you actually need him? I have been away and came back to see that... From Waz's description of the JA Chessboard, with JA gone who is now updating which grid players are meant to go to when whichever player goes into a particular space? Seriously, the moment JA left no-one else would have bothered updating the Grid/Player/Defender instructions, so players are running on an incomplete plan and no-one picks up any new player who does not have a grid allocation. They are effectively ghosts in the JA Machine. The team is effectively (or ineffectively) playing their first games together when DD took over, but without even a core playing style that is common to them. Nigro gave away a pointless free kick inside the first minute (pocketed some of Bowles' stupid pills and obviously ate a few) then only one defender moved towards the ball - and not even the player who could have put pressure on the pass. I started the game thinking 'I am calm and don't care about the result' then got that shite. If we played crap all the time I really could accept that of this team. That we can still string together such beautiful moments surrounded by such utter incompetence just gets me every time. I had to ask the guy next to me when the half time 'entertainment' came on "What did I do wrong?". Carn the Roar! Still with you all the way!

Babalj had moments and positioned himself well, but he was too easily pushed off the ball all game. Maybe fear of an injury is eating at him, but with his tall frame he has to be able to stand his ground to use that height properly. How the fk did Grant escape 3 bookable offences and stay on the park? Blatant mongrel fouling and bugger all called. The ref looked at the two players lying on the ground int he first half both holding their heads then looked back to see Sydney making an attacking run and did fk all. He clearly saw head injuries and ignored it because of the attack. Bloody wrong! Only blew the whistle once the attack had started to go soft.

@Miron (from your post in another thread) "I fear for our football future ...who is going to come in and rebuild us ?....Fowler ? ..hard to see ." I don't feel the same foreboding. Any new coach coming in is going to see that we have no first string defensive line. Give us the sort of back four we expected at the start of this season and the rest of the team can play towards the pointy end of the field - we certainly have attacking power even as we are. Apply even a half decent genuine defensive back four and we are mid table and grinning like the orange idiots we are.

Yeah, the rebuild is easy. It just can’t be done or started mid season.
7-9 good youth players ✔️
+
5 new visa players
+
Young, DWH and a couple of others
+
a couple of new Aussie’s.
It’s all down to the new coach and whether they can sign 5 visa players
