I think you’d need to wait and see how the squad develops. I don’t think O’Toole or Hingert will be in the starting XI next season. I’m not even sure Mauk will be. 

Young, Aldred, O’Donnovan are certainties to start. then there’s another 10 players to come, the current squad:

Hingert
Pepper
Ingham
o’Toole
Mauk
DWH
D’aggers
Reardon 

none of the above will be on big money so it’s entirely possible the next ten signings will be starters and the above squaddies. 

Fair points. I suppose it isn't fair to compare O'Toole vs Davidson, Fornaroli vs DWH and Mauk vs Castro due to the difference in their wages. I imagine we will have a lot more money to spend in other positions because those younger players shouldn't take up as much cap space. 

I imagine Keogh and O'Donovan are on a pretty similar wage. They have a very similar goal per minute played stat, although Keogh comes out on top in assists. If they were on similar money, i'd take Keogh. I also imagine Hingert and Franjic are on similar coin, and I think Franjic offers more in attack and defence, so i'd take him over Hingert. 

As I said, very early days and this is just me overthinking things. Still, when both squads are finalised, it'll be interesting to do a realistic player for player comparison, as you'd expect Perth will be up there challenging for the double again next season. 

Very true Waz. As I said in my reply, mostly me overthinking things/being bored. It is off-season, after all. 

I’m with ya. If all the retained players are squaddies next season with the exception of young and maybe DWH then I think we’ll be in a much better place. 

How much better is then down down to the quality of the signings and how good the new coaching team are.

i have heard from a reliable source that there’s been a mass of signings already done including all the visa players, just no names. He’s outside the club though, just wish BRFC itself would be a little more engaging with fans

Well if you were running a professional organisation you would do all your business before announcing it.
It’s just highly unusual for sporting clubs to act so professionally.
So let’s see...I would certainly be impressed if they did all their signings in secret.

There was a time someone couldn’t sneeze at Roar without everyone knowing lol. So yeah, if they’re getting business done on the quiet i’ll be impressed 

I find it odd that club that has history of not paying people generally acts the most professional. I have such mix feeling about it as I'm glad they don't say anything until it's 100% done. Don't like it as there is no hype and nothing to talk about.

if they are smart they will start drip feeding names in the leadup and possibly into the pre season....no sense blowing all our bolts at once now....at a time when its impact would be minimal ..to me it would be ...announce someone...then start sending out membership renewal requests ...announce some more ..etc ...all while we are deciding if we are going to renew ... then  announce some visa players ...then finish with the announcement of Gareth Bale !..................................sorry that last one just slipped out ....I was just having a little fantasy.

to be fair that was mostly because Franjic lived on social media at the time and posted photos of absolutely everything. I quite liked that as it was never official but the fans knew.
