+x+xRobbie Fowler- Hyundai's January coach of the month! Totally deserved. That can't be right, apparently he and the team are absolute shit. :)

+x+x+xAnybody know which venue is the one they are talking about for a $60 million refurbishment and 12-17k capacity? I hope they go for 17k. There’s five of them. Albion Park, Perry Park, Toowong Memorial Park, Davis Park, the old Pauls site (although I think the knock down would blow that budget so a long shot), somewhere at UQ. Those are the only inner city sites (excluding Ballymore which isn't going to happen) I can think of, of course they could be very much stretching the definition of inner city. What about the QE2 stadium at Sunnybank I think it is? Anyone knows if it's still sitting there unused?

The distance to the pitch was horrifically long the way the grandstands were set up. They could leave one of the grandstands, demolish the rest and construct a new grandstand closer in.

That explains the little churches and small graveyard within the precinct then. Illumination!

A central location is key for crowd attendances

A central location is key for crowd attendances Dolphin Stadium is not central and that gets a good crowd.
If it’s not central then it’s essential there is reasonably good public transport but that fans can use cars as well.

Brisbane just doesn’t have many places with a grandstand

I can’t imagine a reason we could give to convince a QRL club to give up their home ground, I also don’t think there is enough space for a 17k stadium there either

The CBD line is the thing that throws me. It can't be ballymore or qsac. It doesn't leave a lot, perry park but they specifically were cold on that. We got the show ground, but doesn't it need to be round for the show? and not much space. You got Spencer park, victoria park golf course was going to be binned and covererted to a big park which fits cbd repurpose but the land is to hilly. There is lots of land around east brisbane FC and Churchie grounds and that leave UQ with what i would consider a CBD location.
Unless it is qsac, which is an absolute dump and qld athletics has a much better facility and track next door. So really the track is not needed any more. But given the Olympic ambition i would assume that going to be where the Olympic stadium is going to be.

+xHeard a rumour it could be Heath Park? Not far from where I live if true lol. @Waz? Heath Park is just an empty park with some soccer goals? This would insinuated they would be starting from scratch when I thought there was an indication there may have been some existing infrastructure such as a grandstand? It is close to the CBD I guess.

Holloran was a shocker when he was last with Roar but seems to have matured a bit since his overseas ventures. He is currently up and down in his performances but I'll have that speed of his.

Will be a decent pick up. Feel like it's only now he is starting to hit his straps so itmakes sense he would leave. He does fade out of games, sometimes entire games BUT he is pretty professional out there ie. tracks back and doesn't often give up the ball in silly positions etc so even in games he isn't "on", he is still a solid and dependable professional.

From a google search on Ben Halloran - 6 days ago - Adelaide United coach Gertjan Verbeek says winger Ben Halloran is a must- have for his second season. Sound Telegraph

Gotta love the circus... I heard he bought a house here too(pretty sure it was him) but that doesn't mean much if he just has it as an investment I guess. I think we would be a bit silly to part with him for just a few $$ unless he wanted to be closer to his family and demanded to leave.
