Fun stat - we now have 11 different goal scorers in just 13 matches (not counting Donachie's own goal). I wonder what the record for the most scorers in a A-League season for a club is?
Edit: we had 14 different goal scorers in the 2010-11 season.

If he gets signed my hat off to Mulvey. I mentioned Soloranzo last week as a coincidence. He'll bring back some of the more intricate passing game in the final third we've so missed under Ange. Just what we needed. Watch Henrique pick up his game too by having someone who can play ball with him the South American way. Great move if it comes off. Just need a replacement for Miller now but we're stuck here, with the overly generous contract Mulvey gave the impotent older import.

Solorzano will be execellent..... does seem like bes will be going, with the last week pitch to ffa just so they can say they tried everything.
still never get your miller hate paulc, he is a better massimo. He has finally gotten used to roar play style, don't forget he has been out injured, and it take a few games to get used to things.

He's had a full preseason to get use to the Roar. Even Massimo murdocca scored MOM from 22 players and Lustica voted player of the week from the football panel. What has Miller the lad achieved other than an overpriced over length contract? And we gave up these players including Nichols for a hasbeen. The gaffer then wanted another fellow Brit but the club stopped him and hello we discovered Yeboah as a result. Miller needs to match the rest of the team if he wants to be respected.

I would be very happy if we signed Solorzano. It's interesting that he is trialling, surely Mulvey could watch the tapes from when he played here last and make a judgement. But it's always good to get a first hand look I guess.
Very exciting

And Nichols was never going to stay at the roar anyway. We had suddenly reached the cap with less in the squad, I wonder why! Nichols like other players last season didn't have the motivation. As the season started the players were rejuvenated and I'm sure Nichols was going to be part of that same rejuvination. Lustica and Murdocca were better than Miller.

Am I the only one that wouldn't be 100% happy with Solo as a replacement for Berisha? Besart's work rate up front shits all over the effort Solo was putting in when he was here

Besart's work rate up front shits all over the effort Solo was putting in when he was here I'm 100% with you. He scored 11 goals when Roar was at its most dominant, unlocking defences and getting in behind with ridiculous frequency. His goals were a collection of tap-ins, toe pokes and penalties served to him by a red hot team. He wasn't really a 'creator'. To be fair, he wasn't particularly lazy , he would 'defend from the front' but not in the manner we see Berisha doing it. In a tighter, tougher, more even league, we need a striker who can create and put in as hard as everyone else. His lack of game time is also concerning to me.

Surely he would be more of a replacement for Kwame this year, as while borrello is killing it in the NYL he hasn't done much in the a-league i've actually been really impressed with Borrello, considering his limited minutes, all of the youngserts coming of the bench this season seemed really hungry. they go hard which is exactly what we need, as soon a Borrello gets a goal everyone will start singing his praises.. but i also agree that if signed it would be as a Kwame replacement, let him earn a starting spot if he can. I am more concerned with lack of Defensive midfield depth and experience at the moment, if Brattan is injured or suspended (or worse sold), there aren't many options... Franjic, (injured) Mackay (better forward and wide), Ferreira (better as a Fullback), and North played there against New Castle earlier in the season and i was not convinced. :-k Edited by toffee's_or_roar: 21/1/2014 07:35:35 PM

No team can operate with only one recognised striker in their squad. But we have been carrying on with only one for far too long. With Bes, Solo and Petratos, we may finally have some decent depth up front
